I'm not nearly old enough to have watched that show but I said the same thing. I think it didn't matter back then because the resolution was crap compared to now so they could get away with it and no one would ever notice. I honestly didn't notice till I looked down at her feet.

CBS thought her outfits were too risque, so they required her to cover her legs, to make it more family friendly. She didn't have to wear them with a bikini or pants, but always with the daisy duke shorts. But I'm weird, I love it.

Until you posted that picture, I never knew she wore stockings on that show (and I watched it every week when I was growing up).

As far as I'm concerned, Catherine is the only Daisy Duke in my book (the casting director for the 2005 movie should be barred from Hollywood for thinking that Jessica Simpson was a worthy successor, and any guy who thought she was "hot" will have their Man Card revoked
