Finally caught the finale on YouTube. Mostly superb, although I kind of wish
[Show spoiler]that Korra regaining her bending and reaching the Avatar state had been a cliffhanger leading into the next season.
As it is, it's a great season, but I like how the narrative of the previous series was a true trilogy, and Korra's first season being completely self-contained was moderately disappointing. Still, I'll jump on this when it hits Blu-Ray, and I hope the original series will get a high-def release as well.

Alot of the loosing bending was down to energy being tangled and needing resetting.

The ending to me was a little rushed but I didnt think it was out of place (we expected more but i think alot will be answered or shown in the next season) just hope next season will be sooner rather than later

Lets hope some announcement about dvd and blu-ray coming soon if not then i may try writing to nick to see when they may release them.

Awesome - if they really decide never to release a BD version, then I guess this is the next best thing...

Looks like it's the same thing I posted about the set being on Play, cause they updated the image for it:
http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/32237...ngDetails.html I guess they just put it up earlier than Amazon.

But that's great. Not exactly sure how much it differs in price, but 38 Pounds is probably close to 50 Euros.
So, I guess it's still a couple of Euros cheaper at Amazon than it is at Play. Plus free shipping as well, which I believe Play doesn't do for The Netherlands.
But then, I'll probably wait for it to drop in price a little, I'd rather pay like 30 Pounds for 3 seasons on DVD, in all honesty.
Doesn't matter how much I might love the series, money is money. :P

Bought the entire series on Amazon Prime. It looks really good in HD. The kids love the series, just like they did the original Avatar. The creative team behind it is excellent. Too bad the Airbender movie messed up any chance for a series of sequels.

It looks like the next 14 episodes will still be considered Season 1 (but Book 2), with the other 26 counting as Season 2 (and Books 3 and 4).

Oh sure, make it even more confusing by dividing seasons into multiple books.
But anyway, great to see it's been expanded after all.

I'm afraid they're still considering finishing the trilogy, because I'm sure they would like the money if they can get people to buy it.
There's just nothing good about the movie though, and I haven't even seen it.
I'm sorry, I'm not one to have an opinion and decision before having seen something, but I have seen bits and pieces and it just made me sick.
The series compared to the movie, even the movie on its own with the terrible acting and all the Hollywood and CGI cliché's... There's no way...
Even just the selection of actors for the characters... Ridiculous!
The creators of the show shouldn't let people that don't know jack about it touch it with a stick... If they intend to make a movie of it that is.
I had the greatest vision of a movie-version for it when I first watched it. Just too sad I lack the means or position to make it and it's already faded.

I saw some videos of the SDCC for this show. The cast did a table reading re-enacting select scenes from few/one episode (not sure). Wish I was there live to see it.

I hope someone there asked if this series would be getting a blu-ray release.

I was there, and the panel ran out of time so there wasn't a Q&A portion. The Book 2 information got me excited and the video they played that recapped Book 1 was BEAUTIFUL!

Did Korra's episode count get extended again? Last I heard it was only season 2, bringing the grand total to 26 episodes. I figured that was why season 1 wrapped up so nicely, because it was originally only supposed to be 12 episodes, and then they added 14 more. I do wish there was some kind of cliffhanger, and that the big threat wasn't gone so soon. I like how the original series slowly led up to Ang vs. the Fire Lord.

I'm really hoping for a Blu Ray release of Korra, because the show looks amazing in HD! It's easily the most gorgeous American animated series ever!

Any news so far on a blu-ray release on this, or do you think they'll bunch the first 2 books together?

I'd rather they do that then release 12 episodes per "season" separately, making an excuse to milk out on expensive releases with minimal episodes. They'd probably do that anyway ...
