What is interesting is that B&R drove so many people away, that even 10 years later Batman Begins worldwide take was only 40 million dollar more than Forever's take, even though Forever's widest release was on 2,893 theaters while Begins was on 3,858 theaters.

And now I'll get off my little tangent...
Well, honestly, I was never a huge fan of any of the Batman's. Burton's films were a bit too silly and over the top for me. Not to mention just plain dreary.

Forever was fun, but the version of the Riddler and Two Face was again, just a bit too silly for me. I had fun with it when I saw it, enjoyed Val Kilmer's take, but would probably have a hard time watching it today.

Batman and Robin - well, for me, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer were able to become Batman when the suit was on. Clooney just looked like Clooney in a Batman suit. There was so much bad in B & R, that I had pretty much given up on Batman as a movie I'd be interested in.

When I saw the new production art and stills for the new Batman, I thought it looked cool, but wasn't really interested.

I had zero excitement about seeing Batman Begins. Only went cause I was bringing my son cause it was a "superhero" movie".

But when I went home, my wife asked the usual, "How was it"? I said, "You know, it wasn't just a good Batman movie, it was just a good movie, period".

In other words, these movies are the rare superhero film that I'd actually recommend to people (wife, dad, friends) that aren't into these kinds of movies (Spiderman, Thor, Avengers).

To me, these movies transcend the genre. When my father visited, I brought him to see The Dark Knight. (It was my 3rd time seeing it). I would never have brought him to see Thor or something like that. He just doesn't have the geek credentials to get it.

So, I can see why many people stayed home when Batman Begins came out - I almost did myself. But glad I got a chance to see it in theaters and be completely surprised at what I was shown.

And, I thought for sure, at the end of BB, when they showed the Joker card - I figured it was downhill from there. I am sure glad to be completely wrong sometimes.

I'm with ya. When I heard that WB was making Batman Begins (urgh, an 'origin' story?) with Christian Bale (a non-american!?!?!?!?! ) with Christopher Nolan (the guy from Memento??????? ) I was pretty worried, but after seeing it, I was totally wrong.

First, Anna Hathaway is a doll. How could anyone criticize this talented actress. haterz go POOF!! lols

Second, I've been watching the latest TDKR trailer and I've been trying to identify the piece of dark forboding music that appears at the end of the trailer. Does anyone know the name of the piece of music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATVgV...ature=youtu.be

Anyone have any idea what the name of the music title is?

Finally, the only problem I have with this last film is that Christopher Nolan is turning it into a political film. I seem to recall that he wanted to address such things as the economic policies of the U.S. that led to the problems with the banking systems and what happened with Wall Street instead of concentrating on the film itself.

Things as they stand, TDKR is tracking really well with pre-sales and sold out in a lotta IMAX showings for opening day or a few after.

I think it's gonna be interesting not mainly because of Marvel vs DC, because Avengers was an amazing movie, and TDKR will be an amazing movie and i don't even need to watch it to tell that. You can literally tell by all the positive screening reviews so far. I think this is more a 2D vs 3D battle but personally, i'm happy for 3D to stay. Just damn well do a good conversion or good native 3D filming so we don't get left with a sour taste

I really liked the avengers(saw it twice) & i can't really remember ever wanting to see a film more than TDKR...I'm at boiling point.lol.

I believe these will be the best 2 films of the year, even though were only halfway through it.
Personally, I think we(the fans) are the big winners here!
When both Marvel & DC keep on raising the bar higher and higher, and keep putting out these epic films...how can the average fan not feel like they've won?
I'm sure Man of Steel will be nothing short of phenominal this December. Then you've got a few Marvel films next year, and I'm hoping DC is using the 2year gap in live action films to, perhaps, do Justice League?
Keep on raising the bar, and I'll keep being a devoted fan!

Nolan's Batman movies always have a bit of social commentary and it adds nicely to the narrative. He can easily address these issues without getting political. The concentration of wealth at the top 1% over the last three decades is a fact, not a political platform. I think its fair game and can make for an interesting plot ... considering Bruce Wayne is likely one of the 1%. It won't be black and white.

Sorry to be late in the game but anyone know any Movie Cash offers with this movie?

So far I've learned that Christopher Nolan films (Begins, Dark knight, Inception) carries these along with Batman The Animated Series Season 3 and Batman Beyond Season 1 DVDs. That and Sucker Punch/Terminator Salvation.

Problem is I already own most of these, that or I don't want to get Sucker Punch. Is Terminator Salvation any good?

Doesn't sound all that different from the music in the previous films.

From 1:48 onward is new material specifically a variation of the Fire Rises and Imagine the Fire mixed with Molossus and Like a Dog Chasing Cars and its all been modulated with the new synths present in the released score. Have you not listened to the new score?

I recommend Terminator Salvation, especially since it can be had for cheap with a TDKR voucher. It's not a great movie per se, but I enjoyed it more on BD than I did in the theater.

I've listened to the new score and I'm very familiar with those older tracks. I'm just saying most of it sounds the same with a few different motifs sprinkled in there occasionally.

First, the Blade Blu-rays that were recently released come with Hollywood movie cash for The Dark Knight Rises. Each Blade film includes the movie cash.

Second, I actually enjoyed Terminator Salvation. While not as good as Terminator or Terminator 2, it's still a decent film and worth a look. I purchased it on Blu-ray for about $10. Mine came with the theatrical and director's cut.

I would pick Salvation also. I think is underrated. IMO If you've ever played the game Fallout 3 it does feel somewhat like that. To me anyways.
