Damn near a 1/3 of the MSRP. If I had the cash and was in the market for a impressive sub, I'd jump all over it. if you can get it for less go for it!

On the flip what else is available to you in the $4-$500 range. You might be able to do better.

But if size is important there aren't many small subs that can do what Sunfire does with theirs!!!

Actually I was mistaken in my previous reply. There is nothing in the $4-$500 range that will compare to the Sunfire. You would have to find a used sub of comparable retail price to compare them to. I've actually had the pleasure of wking along with a installer who uses Sunfire products.

The Sunfire subs hit hard and hit deep. When a chick says size doesn't matter she must have been sitting on a Sunfire sub

I might not be anywhere near you but you got me wracking my brain trying to pinky and brain and scheme on a way to get it.

I'd give it a go. Whats the worst that can happen if you take your favorite blu and or cd over and listen to it. Keep in mind that it is a older model. But that shouldn't be an issue unless it doesn't look like she was kept nice and proper.

A quick Google confirms your suspicions. Mostly seem to be due to AC requiring line filtering or using a better surge protector. I'm not sure I would let this deter me as other makes and models have suffered from this. YMMV

SMDH ROTFLMBAO you need to compare a sub that cost in the $1.5K area. The only thing that the Mirage offers is newness and warranty. I wouldn't be overly concerned about a warranty on a sub. You can listen to it before purchasing it. You can push the cone in and out see how it responds and inspect the overall condition. You can also get some info on how it was used. Music, movies the condition of the place that is selling it. Male or female etc.

If I'm not mistaken Klipsch makes Energy and Mirage. That being said the Mirage S10 is identical to the Energy S10. If you are considering the Mirage save your self a $200 and change and get this....

I thought you didn't want a ten?

That funky waves 10 is a great sub by reputation. I want to hear it cause that's what I'm considering in the future.

I think you should have provided a bit more emphasis, like it's an oooolder model...

Didn't the MkII come out somewhere in the late 90's? If so, I suspect that one has to be at least 10 years old, which may actually be an issue. Things like surrounds and spiders do dry out, so you if do go for it I'd do a very thorough inspection. And offer him less; $450 for that seems high to me.

Yes you are right it is an older model. Not knowing when this sub was produced or when the next model came into production, would place this sub at 15yrs old.

My line of thought is that if it is tested and inspected and the OP felt comfortable with it, then the quality of the driver and the amp would warrant the purchase.

I've heard a few diff Sunfire sub models. I would get one if I had the opportunity.

I agree with you though. I would try to get the sub for as low as possible. Age being a bargaining factor. 15 yrs is a hell of a lot of depreciation. One has to question has amp and or driver technology evolved that much that would warrant getting a lower powered sub instead.

dude your like all over the place here. In another thread you said you wanted a smaller sub. I think you need to just do your research, go over to AVS and read there. There are many subs, that fit many different purposes. You need to determine if this will be for Movies or Music. Then decide what side of the output vs extension crowed you are in. Could go on and on.

+1 There are subs for home theater. There are subs for music. There are some subs that are designed to do both really well.

If you find the reviews here to be in depth wait till you get to AVS. Get some coffee, get comfortable, be careful though you might get bit by the DIY bug over there.......
