Samsung because that's the top of the line model. If you went with the V series Panasonic then I'd choose that.

Either television set would be a worthwhile investment, although I would tend to agree that the Samsung is slightly better than a UT series Panasonic. The viewing angle, contrast ratio, etc. are all quite impressive and the prices of these two models are similar. It would be useful if I could compare the prices of the two easily, but from a glance, the difference is not substantial. However, consider the Panasonic ST/VT series also (although they are a bit more expensive).

After a year of research, I just purchased a LG 47LM6700. It replaces a Samsung 50" DLP. Passive 3D is great. Need more glasses? Go see a RealD 3D movie and keep the glasses. You paid for them and they are just like those for the LG 3D TVs. Just my opinion as a retired tech at 74 years old.
