It takes place in present day with flashbacks. the flashbacks have nothing to do with WWII or Nazis however, its Cold War Soviets.

Hopefully Ed Brubaker serves as a consultant, because this movie has a lot of potential to be really awesome.

im just wondering if people are going to be confused by the title. since the first was called Captain America: The First Avenger calling this one Captain America: The Winter Soldier makes it sound like Cap IS the Winter Soldier.

Can't wait. I was hoping from the second Bucky fell from the train that we would be seeing Winter Soldier in the next movie.

I would say advertising will clearly show what's going on.
[Show spoiler]Most trailers and television spots will probably have Cap coming face to face and saying something like "Bucky?" and maybe a clip of him falling off the train in the first movie or just clips of him and Bucky saying something like "Bucky died when he fell from that train. I'm the Winter Soldier."

Maybe something like that would help clear everything up.

I haven't seen any of the previous work from these two directors. I know they've directed some of the few higher rated episodes from Community. I have yet to see You, Me and Dupree or Welcome to Collinwood, but I know both are not rated very well. I just hope a good story is put forth, and that these two have the directorial chops to push forth the sequel we're all hoping for.

They could always change it to something like "Captain America vs. The Winter Soldier", or "Captain America: Wrath of the Winter Soldier".

Marvel wouldn't have picked them if they weren't up for the task.

No way they don't somehow get his opinion. He wrote some of the quintessential (Cap) arcs. I agree, this could be an amazing movie. Lucky for me, I loved TFA, so this shouldn't disappoint.

I love the fact they dropped the 2 from this and Thor. Along these lines they should've went with Iron Man: Extremis instead of the generic Iron Man 3 title

How about "Captain America: Rise of the Winter Soldier" as another alternative title? It sounds similar to the F4 sequel, but it'd still be a way of preventing confusion for the general public.

What was so terrible about the first film? I loved it. All the characters were believable, and it had just the right balance of action and humor.

I liked the first half when he was little and Tucci was in it.My main problem is the pacing. The action sequences with few exception and the villain were not interesting.Ofc i may be wrong since i've only seen the film once and remember leaving the theater disappointed.
