Well, ain't that a kick in the teeth?! I was under the impression that it was going to be bare-bones.

Was kind of hoping Image would come out with a few of the movies they released on DVD last year, but oh well. Still excited for Re-Animator. Hopefully it's a great transfer.

Looks like it will contain everything the DVDs had
Well, everything except the highlighter pen I've never opened mine, I wonder if it's dried out by now.

Mmm, that is the specs for the DVD release only. Not a guarantee the Blu will have the same content. If anyone is considering dumping their DVDs right away I'd advise to hold off until we know for sure.

On the Image website, Criterion is listed as a "brand". Do they own the Criterion Collection?

I think they may handle Criterion's distribution, but I don't think they own Criterion. I belive Criterion is owned by Janus Films.

From that link:

"DVD and BD packed with bonus features (existing from earlier DVD releases), including audio commentaries from the film's director, producer and cast, interviews, extended scenes, galleries, and more!"

Click on the red bar over details and you can select dvd or blu-ray details.

I didnt get the DVD with the green marker edition since it would have dried up and couldnt re-animate it . I have the Millennium edition - the Blu ray and DVD seem have to the same bonus materials
This looks like a great release on paper

If you read it, it says "DVD and BD packed with bonus features (existing from earlier DVD releases), including audio commentaries from the film's director, producer and cast, interviews, extended scenes, galleries, and more!

Ah, my browser blocks certain items on the web so the option to select the BD specs didn't work until I unblocked the page.

Cautiously optimistic since they are including features, but like others will still wait and see, especially to see how it compares to Second Sight.

I wonder if Image is done with their Midnight Madness series, because the cover art looks like it will be without that banner.

Could just be temp art. Although I'd be fine with them losing the banner, it takes up unnecessary space.

I flatly refuse to pre-order an Image title after that galling Hills Have Eyes upscale, but if they don't screw it up, I'll be happy to throw my old Elite DVD right in the trash. Green case and all.

Admittedly, that does build some optimism. But as Kentai said, I refuse to pre-order it; I will wait and see how they do with the transfer (and if all the extras are carried over, knock on wood). Especially since Second Sight is apparently planning a release (I've heard nothing but good things about their release of Return Of The Living Dead).
