I am sure this has been discussed here previously, but can't put my finger on it.
Question is whether it is better to order more items in a single go or not, for purposes of avoiding the application of the import taxes. I've imported movies by mail from the US and a few things from Hong Kong and never had the duties applied, but would be interested in others' real life experiences with the UK. For instance, I am looking at the Harry Potter 8-film collection and the Matrix Trilogy from the .uk. For shipping costs, I expect it would be better to order them together, but wasn't sure if the total value or the size of the package would be more/less likely to subject me to the duties. Thanks. |

this wont help you but i do the opposite....i always order all at once and hope for the best....you tend to save money on shipping when you do that and considering how often i have gotten hit with duties i save more money overall because i dont pay as much for shipping.
I have had an item with one blu ray charged duties on while i have had much bigger packages slip by....its luck of the draw in the end |

Not always. Alot of the Universal releases tend to have no special features, but when their US counterparts come out the features are included. Examples of movies I have had to upgrade: Definitely Maybe & Almost Famous
