Thumbs up Best Buy Price Match everything including Amazon (YMMV)

After going for my 3rd trip of U&S, i decided to use their price match.

I wanted to buy Take Shelter( $24.99) and I brought Amazon up on my phone and the price was $13.81. When the manager looked it up, he said the lowest price was 7.44. I said that was lowest 3rd party price and sign said Amazon price. I would have paid the $13.81 as I have wanted this movie for awhile , but he charged me $7.44. Not sure if me buying 3 other movies for $5 each helped or not, but I decided to stop arguing and take lower price.

Sum up: Best Buy matches everything now including Amazon. It says advertised price, not lowest 3rd party, but as usual YMMV.

This belongs here:

That being said, my Best Buy's official stance has been to pricematch anything "Ships and sold by Amazon.com" for a few months now.

Still against corporate policy:

Does Best Buy match the prices of Internet retailers?
No. Best Buy does not match the prices of Internet-only retailers or the website prices of our local retail competitors' stores.

To be clear, no one is calling you a liar, if that's what you took from that. Sycro was just stating that corporate policy (at least on the website) hasn't been updated to reflect that. And a lot of stores still aren't doing it. It's very much YMMV still. I'm fortunate enough that my store does.

Oh , I know. Enigma stated that his Best Buy has been doing it for awhile. Mine have apparently been doing it for about a month, but not advertising that they do it. I would not have known had I not seen that big sign when I went in to the one on I35 in Fort Worth.

I'm Enigma. No need to refer to me in the third person when quoting me. A picture would be good though for people that want to try to call their stores out on it. I'm sure they'll just get the ol' "store's discretion" line though.

I frequently visit the Citrus Park store, and they WILL NOT price match. No a big deal, IMO, but it'd be a nice and welcoming policy that will make me shop there more often.

Noticed it after I posted but was too lazy to change-- noticed that I was also quoted in dadude's post as another person with my same story, but I let it go as friends don't make friends use grammar correctly....and I consider everyone on the forum friends. As an aside, I would say the community here is one of the friendliest I have been a part of.

The fastest way to get this sorted out is for someone to try and PM AMZ on a BBY.com order since corporate handles those. If they say yes, then it should be good at any store. I'll try tomorrow.

Yea, we're pretty good folk around here. I noticed that when I first joined too. It's what made me stick around.

BTW, that's some generous "announcement" you posted in the U&S thread.

What can I say? I'm a nice guy. I tried to emphasize the "worth the trip" part to prevent, "This is 47 cents cheaper on Amazon! Hook me up!"
