My opinion on what kids watch is as long as its not rated R and you teach your kids the difference between real and fake and right from wrong. My daughter is 8 by the way
I have to disagree. I have 2 kids, 5 and 9 and I want them to be kids and be innocent for as long as possible. I see no need in exposing kids who are under 12 to adult issues. Knowing right or wrong is irrelevant because it is about exposure. Exposing 6 or 8 year olds to subject matter that films like Batman contain serves no purpose.

JMO and I hope the rest of the weekend is event free and the movie does extremely well.

Not a bad set of rules at all. I know kindergartners that do sleepovers, I'm not sure how I feel about it yet but probably a bit young. Play dates on the other hand are nice, plus it is nice to trade with another parent to get a little break

Very sad indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the loved ones of the fallen victims.

Unfortunate that the police can't hand this turd over to the families of the dead.

Such a sick, sad little world in which we live.

Aurora, CO, is extremely close to the city of Denver, CO. Like, 10 miles away. It's probable that I've been to this movie theater before, because I saw a movie in Aurora, CO, when I visited Denver back in 2006.

On a personal note, my wife and I brought our 2 month old daughter to opening weekend of 'Return of the King', and our baby blissfully slept through the entire thing (as we knew she would). I can understand why parents of a very young child would need a break, and they can still take their infant out in public and be courteous and responsible.
I don’t think its about having the movie experience ruined by a crying baby, for me its about the fact that an infant's ears are still developing and movies are VERY loud.

I'm outraged with the shooter but that doesn't change the fact that the baby should not have been their period. There was danger for that baby shooter or not. I don't care how god a movie is it's not worth placing my children in danger or even damaging their hearing for the rest of their life. I don't know what your situation was so I'm not commenting on that but THAT BABY HAD NO REASON TO BE THERE PERIOD!

No, my anger is pretty-well guided. The guy behind this is a piece of garbage, no doubt, and if I had five minutes with him, he'd be wishing for the death penalty.

That being said, it does not change the fact one bit that a 3-month old has no business being at a packed midnight showing of any movie, under any circumstances. If the child's parents could't find a babysitter for a few hours, then they needed to just not see the damn movie until they could. Period.

people are outraged at the time the baby is in the theater not that the baby was there, most parents have the courtesy to remove the baby if it starts crying.

Yup, even now my 4 year old complains of movies being too loud at times in the theater. They offer headsets/ear plugs if needed.

I have let my daughter have a few play dates and those are fine because my wife is there talking with the other child's parents. I remember last year a parent sent my wife an email asking to let my daughter spend the night. She even added in the email that her husband is a respected superintendent and she was a teacher. I told my wife "I don;t care if it's the President of the United states" there are so many twisted people out there.

+1000, I am the same way. My kids have never been out of our house overnight. Makes no difference who the other family might be. This day and age its about PROTECTION first.

Just when you think this story can't get any worse, the Pentagon has just reported that US military members were among the victims.

I just read this on the ABC website:

Quote:
Hundreds of police and FBI agents are involved in the investigation. A senior official who is monitoring the situation in Washington said that early guidance based on the early snapshot of this man's background indicated that this act does not appear to be linked to radical terrorism or anything related to Islamic terrorism.
Okay...so the suspect is not Islamic, and right now there is no information stating that the suspect did what he did for any policitical reasons. I would still consider this an act of terrorism, though.

Asking that by e-mail seems weird to me. Maybe I'm old school but a phone call or face to face seems more appropriate with this sort of thing.

Sucks they probably were some of the few trying to do something about it...
Because it's easier to have courage from a safe distance away.

Why does ABC even bring this up? First they tried to accuse the guy of being a member of the Tea Party (and subsequently they were forced to issue an apology), and now they have to bring up the nation of Islam?

F*cking media trolls.

Ummm. I think any violent act that terrorizes people could arguably be considered such an act. There is, however, no apparent indication that it has any known links to organized terrorism (i.e. terrorist organizations).
