As I just stated...the reason I don't want to go is not due to fear. I just don't think I will enjoy the movie as much. That's just me, though.

I'll be honest if security at cinemas becomes like at the airport, I will stop going to the movies. The theater is one place I don't want to be searched just to watch a movie

I don't like laws that require me, an adult, to wear a safety belt in a vehicle. I'll wear one because I'm aware of statistics, etc. but I don't think there needs to be a law to force me to. If my insurance company wants to raise my rates every time I'm caught without one, I fully support that.... if they want to deny personal injury claims when I'm in an accident and found not wearing one, I fully support that.... I would still like the choice though. |

Perhaps I'm being extremely dense, but I interpreted the five asterisks to be a placeholder for a word that's literal meaning is "female dog." In which case, I don't see how his comment isn't immature. If I'm misunderstanding what he was conveying there, then I certainly apologize and retract my comment.

Ever since I saw the picture earlier today I just thought how creepy his smile was, especially now that it's in his criminal record

You can carry in a movie theater in Ohio unless it's clearly posted otherwise. Actually, I know of someone who carries at a local shopping mall despite the fact that it's posted at the main entrance that you can't.... He just enters through the "Sears" store where no such signs are located.... if it's not posted at the entrance, he's within his rights.

Terrible news for the victims of course and everyone else has done a great job of expressing their condolences for the innocent victims of this tragedy.
I cannot stop thinking of how terrible Christopher Nolan may be feeling now. I understand how terrible the loss of Ledger was to him and this tragedy is just another blow toward so many undeserving people. Nolan is a supreme talent who has put so much effort into this great trilogy of films and has given so many Batman/FIlm fans all over the world a trilogy to be remembered for as long as cinema lives. All of the talent involved in making these great films I hope understand that this tragedy was unavoidable. Yes, Batman was what brought these innocents together to see this film but it was nothing that could have been avoided when dealing with the suspects obvious mental stability. It is horrible that this happened at all but this weekend should have been the weekend that Nolan celebrates a victory lap of well-deserved praise for his cinema mastery and the gift he has brought to all Batman'/Cinema fans. |

i haven't read the entire thread but I caught some distaste to bringing infants to the cinema, I think these parents never anticipated what was to come and payed a hefty price.
I was 8 when I caught Aliens and 9-10 when I watched Alien. have to admit this was not at the cinema but in the safety of home. In my mind this is still batman I saw Batman at the Cinema when I was young, the tim burton version that is, I think this is what people may have thought bringing their kids, its a Batman movie

I think it's ridiculous that people have to not only be scared to go to an airport and be afraid of terrorist attack happening, but now people will be scared of just going to the movies. The movies was always (in my opinion) a safe place where I could just go to enjoy a movie when I was out with friends or family, the worst that has happened was a fight that broke out during Final Destination 5, but other than that I've always felt safe and comfortable in a movie theater. This event will not stop me from going to the theater, but it'll just make be aware of my surroundings.

I feel really sorry for the victims it is a terrible disaster but it is sickening people are allowed to carry guns whenever and retailers let people purchase the types of weapons that result in mass murder. I don't understand why anyone needs an automatic weapon.
