Just saw it earlier today. Love it.

All three feels somewhat different from each other, like they each have a spirit of their own, despite sharing the same body.
So I will not compare them. I like all three. I congrat Nolan on a job well done. It's a wonderful trilogy in my opinion.

I'd say it's worth it to try getting an IMAX ticket.

Unlike any Hollywood film in recent years... Or any film ever...
This film contains over an hour of IMAX footage, the highest quality of film available.

Only three movies have used real IMAX 70mm film footage in the past:
The Dark Knight had around 40 minutes
Transformers 2 had around 8 minutes.
Mission Impossible 4 around 25 minutes.

And the average IMAX documentary is 45 minutes long.

So it's an extremely rare experience to:
1. See a Hollywood action movie shot with IMAX footage
2. See that much IMAX footage(75+ minutes!) in one sitting

Saw it yesterday. A brilliant film that just goes to show what an amazing craftsman Nolan is.

All three films are very distinct from each other, Begins is a traditional comic film book, The Dark Knight is a crime thriller that has comic book characters and this film is almost a war epic. The gigantic bombastic set pieces are to be marvelled; and these set pieces are perfectly balanced with character introspection and dialogue scenes. An amazing film to conclude an amazing trilogy. It will be a while before another perfect trilogy comes along.

Also I have to mention, kudos to Nolan and co. for achieving an almost impossible feat; Making Batman appear and fight in broad daylight, without the tone being camp and over the top.
MY FAVORITE FILMS OF 2013 (SO FAR):

1. TRANCE
2. STOKER
3. WELCOME TO THE PUNCH
4. ZERO DARK THIRTY
5. DJANGO UNCHAINED

Great movie! The IMAX scenes are just breathtaking. It's a little jarring sometimes when the aspect ratio shifts non stop but it's all worth it for the HUGENESS and clarity of those IMAX shot scenes.

Everytime you see an normal scene after an IMAX scene you just see how 'ugly' it looks.

Oh and they DEFINITELY tweaked Bane's voice. I saw the IMAX prologue before Mission Impossible last December and i clearly remember not understanding 3/4 of what he said in those scenes. now 7 months later watching the exact same scenes and his dialogue is MUCH easier to understand. So kudos to the community telling Nolan and kudos to Nolan for fixing it!

I have seen twice in 48 hours (with the second time at Imax which i totally recommend) and i have never done that before.

The scale, the score, the acting.. Urban epic. Michael Caine was fantastic , he just rounded everything so well to add a touch of class to it all.

I understood everything Bane said and it never threw me off. In fact when i saw the 5 minute clip in January i didnt understand a damn word, it was perfect the next time around. Modern day Darth Vader with Hathaway giving us her modern day Princess Leia in that lovely outfit.

Will go in a months time when its all quiet and stuff in the cinemas.

I found myself struggling to keep up with TDKR at times, it was like Inception 2. It wasn't helped that I could barely understand what Bane was saying in a lot of scenes, I was like "huh, what did he say?", "whats going on?".

I don't think TDK is that complex a film at all, however I really struggled with Rises.

Great great movie by Nolan. The best among the three though I have to say that the first two installments had a different feel to it. No problems with Bane's voice and the cast really worked well.
Top 10 movies in my collection:
1. Godfather I/II 2.Saving Private Ryan 3.The Last of the Mohicans 4.The Departed 5.The Silence of the Lambs 6. The Shawshank Redemption/The Unforgiven 7. District 9 8. Aliens 9. The Town 10. A History of Violence

My friend and I both had the same problem when we saw it, but this is definately a film that needs to be watched more than once to get the gist of it, especially on Blu-ray when you can crank the volume up.

It'll be one amazing looking and sounding Blu-ray.

Agreed. And seriously, its been 8 years and there is kind of some more pressing things going on in the movie ... Its not necessary or even likely that he would be mentioned.

[Show spoiler]The original story treatment by David S. Goyer was to have Two-Face as the principle antagonist for the film. Initially, at the end of The Dark Knight, The Joker would have scarred Harvey Dent at a courtroom trial, setting up the third film. Dent's death and fall at the end of the second film was put in instead as setting up on the scenario of the relationship (being the backbone of the story) between him and Batman broken and in the aftermath that follows.
I never heard that .. I remember right after Heath's death they all said the filming was already completed. Seems a bit odd to me, where did you read this?

I think
[Show spoiler]that it was simply a hallucination and a projection of Bruce putting some of the pieces together subconsciously and that it was brought on by the extreme pain Bruce was in.

Yeah, he is just saying that was the original idea/treatment for the movie, not the final script. By the time they had a shooting script The Joker was the main deal, as far as I know. Filming was completed before Heath passed.

I cant get Bane's voice out of my head. It's really a shame because he looks cool, he's a tough guy, but they ended up having to overdub his voice and it sticks out like a sore thumb in the movie.

I remember how cool that line "with no survivors" sounded in the prologue, and in the final movie it sounds so silly. I think it needed to be more like Darth Vaders, overdubbed but not turned up so loud and not muffled. Oh well.

For me personally Bane was VERY forgettable. He just had no character at all. He was just a soldier, nothing more.

Joker>Scarecrow>>>>Bane

For me, I like my Villains to be badass.

So to me Bane>Joker. I liked the Joker a lot but I just like the brute force of Bane. It was all in the eyes of how he was. I never stared at his mask. I paid attention to his eyes. To me that can tell you just as much as seeing facial expressions.

I completely agree. I also think the first time I watched it I had a sense of "what next?" that cause me to lose some of the details because I was wondering where everything was leading. The second time around I was able to just relax and enjoy the story, action, and drama much better.
