Best Buy has had the extended trilogy for $49.99 at least 2-3 times since last Black Friday. Most recently within the past few weeks. That price is becoming the norm.

I snagged mine for $35 off Walmart.com a while back.

Besides, it's been stated that WB Shop is offering it at below $60 with free shipping now as well. And you don't need a paid membership to buy from there. So, it's available for less than $60. It's almost always available for less than $60 SOMEWHERE is what I said. I stick by that statement.

OK, I'm going to jump into the fray(hope I'm spelling that right) and ask the question. Who are you to say what qualifies or disqualifies a price Area? I don't always agree with Petra, but he's right on the price point of the gift set. With the exception of the Wally's $34.95 sales price a few months back(Time check someone), $49.99 has been the sales price in numerous locations. Costco was the last place to have it at that price. The membership isn't even a factor. So I'm not sure why you are trying to dismiss its legitimacy. I definitely think there is more to this than just a simple "prove it" attitude on your part toward Petra. If that is the case, take it off the board via pm. I don't come to the forum to read pissing contests. As a stay at home dad trying to juggle computer time and my 3 year old I just don't have the time. I'm sure I'm not alone on this either.

If those are ofifcial, I'll prepare some crow to be served for a special someone who claimed they're just taking the cases right out of the boxset with no changes. The new cover art looks awesome too if real.

Those are the same as the covers of the paperback books i saw at barnes & noble.

Those are the same covers that were used on the combo theatrical/extended versions of the movies that were released on DVD in 2006.

I use those cases to currently store my theatrical cuts of LOTR on BD. They're beautiful cases!

I got rid of those and the theatrical DVD's when the EE BD's were released. I agree with you that the artwork on those versions was great; I wish I would have kept them. The only DVD versions I now have are the EE's.

When are these coming out? I am in SHOCK! I didn't get the box set because the extra features are all low-def like the old ray DVD extended box sets. I will definitely go for the BD extended versions as individual releases just to see them in HD.
