It is established in TDK that it is in Gotham.

If we're talking jurisdiction, Bruce Wayne says to Harvey Dent in TDK that it is in Gotham City. As for where it is geographically, in BB, it looks like it's out in the middle of nowhere. In that second-to-last scene with Bruce and Rachel, I can't see any city in the background when they're walking around the burned down mansion.

In TDKR though, those establishing shots of Gotham after the opening plane sequence show Wayne Manor right near one of those bridges, so it's pretty close to the city.

We see in the first film that that is his only major weakness, and it comes back to bite him in the ass.

I feel that it just goes to show that Bane was that tough of an opponent that it would have been almost impossible to defeat him in a fair fight. So Catwoman did what Batman can not.

And also redeemed herself from leading him into a trap that almost killed him.
[Show spoiler]Batman had him defeated. Bane basically became incapacitated once Batman broke his mask, which means at that point he could have tied him up, broke his arms and legs, etc...

Of course Talia messed all that up, but Batman had him down for the count.

Just watched the movie. It was good. The Dark Knight is better though in my opinion. It was better than Batman Begins though.
Overall, I enjoy it and will go see it again tomorrow with the GF.
Adopted Blu-ray long before its development and launch.

For the people that like The dark knight over the dark knight rises, is it mainly because of the Joker or because you think that the whole movie and/ or story is is better?

For me, part of it has to do with The Joker (70%), and part of it with the story (30%).

hard to compare IMO. Such different films. Doesn't even feel like a sequel most of the time. Just really different styles. I can't pick a favorite. They're 1a and 1b as far as my favorite comic movies ever. Batman Begins is in the top 10 somewhere.

For me personally the Joker is just 1 part of it, since I think he is far more interesting than Bane was.

But overall I think TDK had a very focused story. Really not a lot going on in it, which allowed the story to breathe a little and have a great flow to it. TDKR has so much going on that it actually feels rushed, and some of it just feels shoehorned in there. I just feel like the script could have used more time to streamline it and make it flow better, but its almost like they ran out of time and just had to start shooting it.

TDK also has a lot of really cool scenes, like the Joker hanging out of the cop car window, the interrogation scene, and I didnt feel like there was really anything like that in Rises. Rises feels more like a normal comic book movie to me, and nothing like TDK which is more of a drama I guess.

[Show spoiler]
Plus the fact that in Rises eventually it just sinks into typical Hollywood stuff with the real villain being revealed, chase scene, ticking timebomb, hero steals bomb to have it detonated somewhere else. Really unoriginal. Also there's just a lot of really silly dialogue in Rises. Alfred, "Look at Bane, he's just too fast for you." *cringes*

Both TBH. Rises felt more like a Book Ends. It ended the trilogy about as perfectly as any film could've, but as a stand alone movie, the second film was stronger.

[Show spoiler]why do people keep saying the prison is in mexico? It looks more like a middle eastern or african country to me. Also, during the news broadcasts playing on the prison TV you can clearly see arabic or some other foreign language on the screen. I loved this movie but my biggest problem was the fact that they glossed over how Bruce got back to Gotham and he just kinda appeared and was like, "Sup."

Yeah I was hoping this would be a LOT more epic than it was. You would think with a name like Rises, it would be some grand return, and he just suddenly appeared on a bridge. Great.

I Enjoyed TDK more than TDKR because the joker is my favorite batman villain, the story was great, and ledgers performance even made it better. The Thing i loved more about TDKR was the fight between Batman and Bane that was epic! the Joker and Batman fight was corny.

What part was epic? It was 5-6 punches each, a couple headbutts and a few kicks. See "They Live" for epic fight.

mainly Joker being the better villain for me, but TDK also i felt was just a bit better overall. I did however really like TDKR and plan to see it again. Also i thought John Blake was a great character one of the best in TDKR imo. I only mention because i have read alot of hate about his character on the internet and i'm not sure why.
