Already have the "2012 London Olympic Games: Opening Ceremony" set to record on the DVR Thu, Jul 26, 10:48 PM PDT via DirecTV n3D channel 103.

Surprised that ESPN3D channel 106 is not covering any of the Events.

Why surprised? ESPN is part of ABC (or these days they are both parts of Disney). NBC has the rights to the Olympic coverage in the USA.

I am glad that they arent, ESPN 3D is another "premium subscription" for Fios and the amount of content is not worth the price to me. Does anyone know if the MNF games are broadcasted in 3d? If so, I would order it just during football season.

**Jsmith nor associating agreeable parties take back any actual accusations, labels, or insults made per earlier posts in this topic. Posting parties have been burned too many times, in fact offering this in 3D is like putting a single band-aid over a severed arm. However in good spirits I will say this, damn good start to win me back.

LOL - don't forget to read the fine print I sure did when I signed up........

I received an email from Cablevision just yesterday stating that the Olympics will be broadcast in 3D on channel 1300. I find that interesting because as of today, channel 1300 doesn't even exist on the HD DVR cable box. I'll keep checking.

Just throwing it out there, if anyone on U-Verse figures out what channel will cover the 3D content please do share. I looked all around the channels, premiums, featured, Olympic specific, demand services, etc.. I searched the entire U-Verse U-niverse and couldn't locate the channel or any information on what channel it will be if it's not out there yet.

aaaaawwwwww yeah I'm excited! I REALLY hope boxing gets some 3D coverage

All the 3D I've seen has been in HD--Don't know whether that's for the framerate, or to preserve the high-definition illusion of "solid" objects.)

Nope, but I googled "u-verse channel 1095" and the first post I was brought to was:

New Olympic Channels

07-23-2012 05:30:24 AM

The following Olympic channels are now in the Guide and shown as "Coming Soon . . ."

1095 - Olympic 3D Channel

1096 - Olympic Basketball HD

1097 - Olympic Soccer HD

1636 - Olympic 3D Channel

1637 - Olympic Basketball HD

1638 - Olympic Soccer HD
I haven't read (or found) how the broadcast will display or work though, just glad at this moment we'll be able to watch it.

The interesting thing is that 1095-1097 are HD channels, so are 1636-1638..... I'm scratching my head.

Cablevision 3D Olympics broadcast update:
Link

Quote:
3D: Panasonic Corporation of North America and the NBC Sports Group partnered to make the London 2012 Olympic Games available in 3D to iO TV customers. Inspiring 3D coverage of prior-day events will include track & field, swimming, synchronized swimming, gymnastics, diving, whitewater canoeing/kayaking, plus medal rounds of basketball and water polo.

3D programming will be available on channel 1300 from 5 a.m. to 7/8 p.m. ET beginning July 28 through August 13.
So what will they show from 8 pm to 4:59 am? NOTHING? I hope the 3D programming simply repeats. At least we'll have 2D primetime Olympics on NBC.

I called and put posts on Charter's official support forum. They will have no 3D broadcast channel, nor any 3D on demand. -sigh-

Here in the UK, as well as the BBC, which has a dedicated 3D Olympic Channel amongst 23 other dedicated HD Olympic Channels (just a wee bit of overkill!), you can also view it in 3D on ESPN through Sky.

In fact, I just got an email from Sky saying their 3D channel is free till 20 August to allow Sky users to try it out, so if you have Sky that's pretty neat.
