Amazon CEVA - Amazon Shipping for TVs

Has anyone had experience with CEVA delivering a TV purchase from Amazon lately? I have a 55" VT50 on the way and I've read a lot of bad stories, but most were 2009-2010 time frame. Any good stories recently and advice if I run into trouble?

I had CEVA shipping on my 50" Panny Plasma in March 2011. Two fellows brought in my tv, unboxed it, assembled the stand, placed it onto my television stand, and tested it. The whole process took maybe 15 minutes. I was very happy with their professionalism and courtesy.
Before they came, I had to call a number to set up an appointment. I suppose if there would be any problems, you would just call that number.

My experience was about the same as Liverpool's above. They delivered my Sony in Jan '09 and were great. Remember, Amazon offers that 30 day thing were if there is ANY problem in the first 30 days they will bring another tv to your house and take the bad one away--for free.

I will ONLY ever buy a tv from Amazon in the future: no tax, free (fast) shipping, and a great exchange policy.

So you had to contact them to schedule a time? According to Amazon they will contact me when it is at a local hub, but it's supposed to be delivered tomorrow and the tracking shows it is here locally, but I have yet to receive a call. I'd really like to have it before the 4th!

I have had 3 TVs delivered by CEVA in the last 2 years and they have been terrific. Every time they bring the TV in, unpack, set it up on the stand and turn it on to make sure everything works. They have always come within the scheduled time frame. I had to return once and they did a great job too.
If you already scheduled the delivery when you placed the order on Amazon, you don't have to call or do anything. From my experience, they won't call you either, they just come.

The only thing worst than this garbage company are the low lives they hire to work for them. Completely unprofessional, lacking in manners, and straight up *******s. And the worst part about it is Amazon couldn't possibly care less.

Also, I got no white glove treatment.
TV turned out to be seriously defective.
They missed two scheduled appointments to pick up the TV.
And when they did eventually show up they started some shit with me in my own drive way. I'm just happy I didn't take it too far because when I lose my temper I tend to make poor decisions that may have life altering consequences.

Advice: Don't take any shit from them and demand the service you deserve.

BTW: Congrats on the VT50, that's a sexy ass TV.

Update on my status:

Called (800-888-4949) at 4PM because I still hadn't heard from them and my set was guaranteed by Tuesday, 7/3 (tomorrow) when I ordered it last Friday (6/29). The CEVA rep told me he would call the local agent and get me an answer. Came back a few minutes later and told me they only deliver in my area on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and it was too late today (obviously), so they would schedule me for 12PM-4PM Friday since Wednesday is a federal holiday and they were closed. I asked if I could speak to the local agent and try to work something out and he gave me a number to call.

Called the number at 4:30PM and ended up with the same CEVA rep again. Didn't know it until I told him "I ordered an item through Amazon that was guaranteed delivery tomorrow and I haven't heard about scheduling a delivery yet" and he said I think we just spoke. Anyway, he called the local agent again and they can now fit me in tomorrow between 12PM-5PM. He also said he will email the local agent so they can call me when they are about an hour away from delivering so I can leave work and be home to accept it.

So as long as I have a TV tomorrow that has packaging in good condition and the customer service is good, I will mark it as a success. But it took persistence on my part and the initiative to call them when Amazon clearly stated that they would call me when the TV was at my local hub (which it has been since 12AM this morning).

BTW, I chose the "Call me to schedule a delivery" option because the preset times weren't available for this week, but Amazon guaranteed the TV to me by Tuesday if I chose the call for scheduling option.

Edit: Thanks for all of the input, this thread might serve a good purpose as advice and reference for anyone who orders a TV from Amazon and has CEVA as their delivery service.

Not for long...I think Congress will resolve the tax issue by the end of 2014 and it will resolve itself if Amazon happens to open a warehouse in your state (and they have been expanding the number of warehouses they have) as then they'll HAVE to charge tax because they'll be a tax nexus. They already charge tax in New York and they've agreed to soon start charging tax in California. Other states are forcing Amazon to charge tax if they have affiliates in the state. In some states, Amazon has dropped affiliate sales so they won't have to charge the tax. In other states (like NY), they charge sales tax.

Wow, I did not realize that... I do know there is not a warehouse in PA. Well, I guess those of us can reap the benefits while it lasts.

Bought our GT30 55" from Amazon and had the CEVA delivery. It was shipped to a distribution center about 25 miles out. I scheduled a time and they called to verify I think the day before. Being a set that size I was expecting to meet "Two People" but it was one guy in a large van.

He got the set out and on a dolly without any help but it would've been a chore if it were the wife and not me there. The base had to be attached which meant lifting the set up (two people). The guy seemed to pretty much know what to do and probably took about 30 minutes from start to the set up and powered with trash out the door.

I wasn't so much worried about the actual delivery as much as getting a set with damage. It was the first time ordering a TV off the web. I felt like I was ordering a case of eggs from the other side of the country. FWIW, we saved a bunch ordering off mazon. From price to taxes I'd say close to $400.

Congress has nothing to do with state sales tax, Its administered on a State level and has nothing to do with the Federal Gov't

Ceva has been great with all my deliveries, unpacked, made sure it worked and so on. Last TV I bought was from Shop NBC and they kinda sucked, they were just gonna leave it on front porch, rather than walk it 20 feet more into the room it belonged in. I told them I wasn't signing until it was brought in because no one was able to help me for a few hours and I didnt want that massive thing out in the rain and moisture.

There actually is one in PA. I live in Chambersburg and there used to be one five minutes away. I'm sure they moved the warehouse to Mechanicsburg which is a little outside Harrisburg.

I'm in Richmond, VA, and I ordered a 51' Samsung and CEVA are insanely disorganized, they missed their initial appointment which was to be between 10am and 1pm *(which was a whole week AFTER the night I bought the TV on Amazon) I called and had to phone tag for most of the afternoon until they "found" my tv...they finally showed up close to 7pm and the guy knocked once, looked like he was about to head back to the truck to leave, I opened the door and he asked me for help getting it into the house, while his partner sat in the truck, now I'm not a d*ck but the only reason I'm home is because of a slipped disc so unless he wanted me to only carry the remote back, he was out of luck, i asked about the dude in the truck and they looked at eachother as if to say "screw this guy" they "carried" it into my house, and basically dragged it up the stairs...they opened the box, looked in, while i signed, next thing i know the trucks starting and theyre heading down the road, didnt even take it out the box, so much for white glove, luckily some friends were coming by that night who were willing to mount it for me...needless to say I'd rather pay tax and maybe a few bucks more at a B&M to be able to get actual customer service...beware!
