Default Slipcovers

Both USA & Canada versions have slips covers, I know, I have both! Frankly the poor design needs them to hold the cheap thang together.

Bought the 3 seasons when they first hit, but just watched a dozen or so eps this last weekend. All I can say is: WoW! this is as nice as this show is ever gonna look, me thinks. Had great fun with it. Wished seasons 1 and 2 were slim like 3, and that all had the eps listed on the disks, but glad they used the DVD-50s on these. By today's current episode season length of 22 or less in U.S., and given an 'hour show' is 40-43 min of actual programming, Star Trek TOS is about 3 and half seasons worth of show. 79 eps + unaried pilot (50 min each for eps, 1 hr 2 min for 1st pilot)

I loved these so much that when my wife and I had engaged in our "groinal conjunction offering imminent potentialities of a gratifying denouement" the other night, I placed my TOS blu next to us - my set truly has gone where NO MAN has gone before!!!!

Yeah, after so many times seeing that episode I didn't notice it either.

If you liked that one, try this one....

I finished my TOS set last Friday. Got my TNG set on Saturday. As cool as it was to see the old series remastered with new FX shots, the show just doesn't hold up well. Too many, beam down to planet and find some bigotted occupant holding the crew hostage or something episodes. Not enough conflict with the Klingons/Romulans episodes.

I hate how seasons one and two are phat Blu-ray cases, and the third is a slimline. Was one and two ever re-released with slim cases?

I'v never seen TOS and have been wanting to pick this up for a while now, but they seem a bit too pricey ... do they ever dip under the $45-$50 mark?

No they don't. You'd be lucky to get them for $50. But imho they are worth it. If you've never seen it, however, you might want to try an ep first....

They are available on Netflix instant!

Every now and then it happens. I picked up all three at Best Buy a few years ago when they had each season on sale for $29.99. But that hasn't happened since (as far as I know).

There is a UK edition that will run folks in the U.S. $125 or less - for the complete series, that seems like a pretty good deal

I bought these for $65 each when they first hit; personally, no regrets - this is still my fav series of all time

Not sure. Yeah, my first two are noticeably thicker than season 3 - it bugged me at first, but I am over it

Well, it certainly wasn't as varied as the episode where we meet Picard's mom. Or the one with Picard's brother and nephew. Or the one with Riker's dad. Or those ones with Data's brother. Or the one with Data's dad. Or the one with Wesley's dad/Beverly's husband. Or the one with Troi's mom. Or the one with Troi's dad. Or the one with Worf's brother. Or the one with Worf's adoptive brother. Or the ones with Worf's son. Or the one with Geordi's mom and dad. Or the ones with O'Brien's wife and kid. Or the ones with Yar's daughter. Or the one with Yar's friggin' sister. Yeah, TNG was real good about avoiding going back to the same well over and over.

How about the Enterprise episode where they go into a cave?

I kid. Love Enterprise, as well as TOS and TNG. Wish the older shows had serialized storylines, but they're great even without that component.

I ended up grabbing the 1st season for $51 and the 2nd for $68 from ebay. I'm thinking i dished out a bit too much for the 2nd, but i'll live with it.
