Yeah I also liked the classic looks of the Marantz. But the contemporary styling of the Marantz is starting to grow on me. And like the TEAC, the Marantz is all metal as well (even the glossy top).

I finally got the Marantz all set up in the kitchen. The only thing left for me to do now is to conceal the power cord and subwoofer cable that's running down the wall under the shelf. Running the 110 ft Cat6 cable was a pain in the ass!!! I knew it was going to be a job, but it took a bit longer than I had anticipated. But it's all done now and I'm happy to report that the Marantz is streaming music perfectly!

The sound quality of this new unit is awesome! I'd say even better than the TEAC. The Marantz' sound is very smooth, and I'd say it has a tad of warmth. Very easy on the ears. But it's very crisp and dynamic also, so it's a winner in the sound department.

The sound with the sub in the mix is superb!

Here's some pics!

And a shot of the back of the unit
Those pictures are gorgeous
[Show spoiler]I especially love the B.I.C.'s
.

How far is the system from your stove ? You know air born grease can be an even bigger pain to clean off electronics.

Glad the Marantz is working out for you! Looks like a solid piece of gear, congrats! I do like the build quality of mine, all except the drawer on the BD player, the CD player's is much more sturdy.

Thanks Russ.

I am very impressed with the quality of sound this little system gives. At only vol 14 it is plenty loud, not ear popping but very room filling. And the sound sounds larger than where it's coming from. The B.I.C's and the Paradigm sub are a perfect match for the Marantz.

The system is definitely far enough away from the stove (approx. 14 feet), so there's very little problem with airborne grease. And what's cool about this Marantz unit is that there are no vents on the top and sides. And the vents it does have are all on the bottom. And it must have a good thermal design, as it only gets slightly warm after say 6 hours of use.

Hey Wabo!

Yeah, the Marantz really lived up to expectations! And with the B.I.C.'s I wasn't expecting audiophile caliber sound, but they really knocked my socks off! And when they outperformed the Paradigm Mini Monitors, that was a downright shocker, as I was expecting them to smoke the B.I.C's!

Hi Travis!

The Marantz is getting quite the workout. It just sounds so damn good! It's not easy to impress me when it comes to sound, and for the quality of sound coming out of the B.I.C.'s, I know the Marantz is playing a large role in that. The two are a perfect match!

Here's a different shot of the system in the kitchen. I still need to do a bit of wire concealing, but it's nearly all completed.
