I've seen too many nicely edited trailers to only then have to watch a turgid film. So I won't let myself get excited any more by trailers alone. The trailer(s) for Quantum looked good and look how that turned out. But yep, trailer looks fine, so bring on the reviews. On the flipside of that point, I thought the first teasers for Casino Royale were terrible (the one with the fast zoom up to Craig's face at the casino table) and look how that film turned out, it was incredible. So it can go the other way too.

I found it bit stange that the agents that were exposed appeared on youtube, then next to the youtube video theirs blank video posts in the trailer. Why would a villain post anything on youtube? Just weird I thought.

I haven't seen all of the Bond films. I'm really anxious to buy the BOND 50 Box Set and finally see them all on BD

But as far as what Kurtis said, next to The Dark Knight Rises, Cloud Atlas, and now Skyfall, this does look like one of the BEST trailers I've seen in a LONG time, especially for the past two years.

I definitely can't wait

I find it amazing how they've basically taken what is a spin on a modern day villain for 007 that's a real throwback to all the earlier pre-Brosnen movies that were all a little outlandish in some way e.g Jaws but they've just about grounded him enough to make him a trult terrifying modern day menace.

I absolutely love that mis mash ode to the past and i think Javier has experience playing such a charater . IMAX for definitive, even if there's bad reviews

I havent seen the movie obviously, but I would almost guarantee this movie wont get much bad reviews, you got the best cast of any bond movie, best crew, I dont think much can go wrong. Besides its Bond.

I'm always amazed at the dislike for QoS. I was kind of talking out loud and my wife said, "I liked that, better than the first one(CR).". I have to agree. I still need to get that movie though. Can't wait for this one to come out.
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?

I have the same kind of excitement for Skyfall that I had when I first saw Casino Royale. It's a great feeling.

Let's start the Goldeneye Appreciation Society! I'm not buying the big Bond set, but I will buy Goldeneye when they finally release it individually.

Damn straight! I hope we get some other cool individual packaging for some of the bond films. A steelbook for Goldeneye would be great!

This x100000000000000.

I'm holding out for an individual GE release too, and TND.

In the new Total Recall,
[Show spoiler]on his way to work, Colin Farrell is reading Fleming's The Spy Who Loved Me
. I thought that was a nice reference.

On the contrary I think it's right that they don't involved Quantum for the 50th anniversary, because you can't really do a tribute film to all the previous films if you're continuing a story on from just the previous two. Logically it wouldn't make sense and I think the last thing people want is yet another DC film with Quantum, we want a break and this is the perfect time to do that.
I suppose, but it still rubs me the wrong way. It'd be like doing the Joker tease at the end of Batman Begins and the villain having nothing to do with the sequel in The Dark Knight.

I'm sure this won't be the last we see of Quantum. They'll be making a return as Daniel Craig's Bond still has unfinished business and needs more closure.

Look at it this way, at the end of the day Bond is predominantly about standalone films. QoS was a departure from this and it didn't turn out as well as they'd hoped, so I think it's only appropriate we move away from Quantum for the time being. There's no indication that they won't return and it's not as though QoS ended with on a cliffhanger, like Casino Royale, which would lead into the next film, so I don't think your comparison is the best one.

It's obvious there still a lot of be tied up and Wilson and Broccoli are aware of this. I like the idea that they're still lingering around, yet we have no idea what they're doing, so when they reappear they might be bigger and badder than in QoS or if they'd appeared in Bond 23, so the wait would be worthwhile.
Ask me any question about Doctor Who and I'll know the answer.

I don't dislike QoS, its just that it was quite disappointing following the excellent Casino Royale. Royale had a more engaging plot, a better cast of characters (Mads Mikkelsen was excellent as the villain), and the ending was amazing (the first time I saw it I remember there being several points where I thought the film was going to end, but instead it just kept going with awesome scenes... it was like the movie had four or five climaxes in the second half). QoS felt more like a standard action movie. It was good, but the villain was boring and the overall plot just wasn't as engaging.

Basically, I thought CR was fantastic while QoS was just an above-average action movie.

Got the new posters in at work today - the UK quad styles (so landscape rather than portrait). Same style as this standee, only with the title/date above the image (and Bond a bit smaller to not overlap the ends of the logo) and, you know, on paper and not 3D. They look pretty cool.

I honestly couldn't get into the two Bonds with Craig. I couldn't take Quantum. There was just waaaaay too much action for a Bond film, plus all the quick cut/shaky cam BS got annoying....and that's something that plagues most action films now.

So needless to say, I haven't been anticipating this one. I REALLY want to, because I do love the Bond series...well, all of them except the last 3 with Brosnan and the 2 with Craig.
