It still amazes how they can make a scene so intense with not much really going on. Tonight's episode for example, when Walt was talking to Hank and Marie about his cancer and Skyler is in the background standing at the pool. You know something is about to happen, so you're looking at her while trying to focus on what he's saying. I can't help but feel bad for her, she's genuinely scared and is probably going out of her mind because of it. Then she tells Walt that she's just waiting for his cancer to come back She sounds like a ***** for saying that, but with how he's acting and the fact that he doesn't see how it's affecting her, or just doesn't care, I can understand.

I'm not a big fan of Skyler, but it was kind of awesome to see Walt intimated by her at the end there. Great episode again today. Not a lot of action but great acting and scenarios.

I honestly feel she deserves an award for the last two episodes alone. Last edited by hardtosayx; 08-06-2012 at 06:56 AM. |

Holy shit, just read that Rian Johnson directed that episode
![]() Possibly the season's best so far, and definitely had the best acting in it from the season. Also extremely intense and awkward

I imagine the final four episodes of the summer will be packed with action
I'm predicting Lydia will be killed, and at least one more major character. ![]() Anna Gunn could easily get another Emmy nomination after last night as well. Her scenes with Cranston are just amazing. Last edited by djgeneral; 08-06-2012 at 10:52 AM. |

Also, forgot to mention, the opening scene was the weakest link of the episode. The message was good behind it, but the dubstep...

Lol I hate the character so much I hope she wins nothing! If nothing else happens I want skyler gone! I have no idea if that's what the creators were going for but if it wasn't she and them both failed miserably.

When the episode started I asked my girlfriend the over / under before Walt slaps her.I thought it was great. It was actually used well in the scene.

It turns out, that was mostly because I was so caught up in Walts plight. A couple years later when I rewatched it I discovered that Skyler was only reacting to Walts very, very bad behavior as a husband. On second viewing it appeared to me that she was quite justified in her behavior. I t was a lot more clear when I wasnt caught up in the danger and tragic news that Walt was experiencing. From Skylers side of the relationship, Walt was really being an evasive, mysterious, lying douche, and she was on to him. All she wanted was for him to be open and honest and he was just making up one false story after another.
Because Calamari Marionette Ph.D sounded pompous, that's why.

I don't get the hate many seem to have for Anna Gunn. Is it Anna herself? Or the character she plays?
I don't find her a bad actor by any means, and she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for season 4...so I'm guessing it is the character she plays (but you are SUPPOSED to feel that way) so I'm confused at what the issue seems to be. She has been better and better as each episode goes on. The dynamics between Skyler and Walt have been outrageously awkward, intense, and depressing this season.

I don't think we're supposed to hate her. I don't hate her, but a lot of people have expressed their hatred towards her.
Skyler's reactions were reasonable, but at the time they seemed like a little too much and that clearly stuck with people. Although I'm not entirely positive how they think she should have reacted to thinking he was cheating but finding out he was making meth instead. Before we saw Walt's perspective and usually sided with him but now the tables have turned. Walt is basically a despicable human being that doesn't think anything bad will happen and he's way too sure of himself. Now that we see that side of Walt and Skyler's completely rational reaction to it, it's easy to feel bad for her. Last edited by hardtosayx; 08-06-2012 at 09:58 PM. |

Maybe I've not heard her say it, but why doesn't Skylar ask Walt to give up 'the business' and go back to teaching or something else legit. I hear her say she's afraid, worried, scared, etc. This past ep she went on with her ideas of how to keep the kids safe and such but I don't recall her spending some of that energy trying to convince Walt to give it up for the sake of his family, since he claims the reason he's been doing this is for his family. Yes we know he did it to make $ in case he was gone. She could be giving him some sort of speech like Walt, I would rather be broke with you then be rich without you. Course going into more detail. It would be nice to see some more pressure be put on Walt from that perspective. Not that he would seemingly care. His son obviously enjoys spending time with his father and if had the choice would probably rather have more time spent with dad, then time spent with dads money when dad is dead. I'm sure it's just part of Walt's downward spiral. But ya can't help but hope he turns things around.
