Finally got to see it yesterday. What a freakin' ride! Easily the best in the trilogy for me. I think Nolan hit all the marks perfectly with this. Bane was a force! I was actually scared for Batman when
[Show spoiler]had had to fight him the first time.
And the ending was just epic all the way around. Loved Catwoman in this as well. There were really no negatives for me whatsoever.

Saw this last night and was pretty underwhelmed by it...by far the worst of the 3 imo

movie felt a bit long for the substance given...not all THAT much happened in the beginning...

I thought catwoman was nothing special at all and doesnt come close to the performance of Pfeifer...

and a question about the movie...am i just missing something here or what??

[Show spoiler]the whole thing is revenge on batman for killing her father, right? why exactly did she want to kill everyone in Gotham then? why not just KILL batman....Bane says he wants to torture "his soul" but is that what the girl wanted? since it was HER revenge??

i just dont understand the overall concept of the movie as to why she is trying to destroy Gotham

[Show spoiler]the Bat plane comes in and destroys one of its tanks that was about to shoot all the cops....and then it flies away... why exactly didnt he turn the bat plane around and start shooting Bane and ALL the bad guys lol??? just flies awaay and lets the cops deal with it...makes no sense lol

[Show spoiler]It all stems from the plot of the first. Talia is a member of the League of Shadows. That's what they all want: to destroy Gotham. Ra's says it in Begins, "once a civilization reaches the pinnacle of its decadence, we return to restore the balance." Gotham is a ****hole, full of corruption and suffering. Wiping it out will bring allow society to become normal again.

The idea was that
[Show spoiler]she never cared much for her father at all until the day that Bruce let him die and then she started to give a damn about him and wanted to finish his work and in the process, completely break the Batman physically via Bane and then also mentally with the hostage situation of Gotham and making him watch and her reveal to be the person pulling the strings further hit him in the heart as he bagan to care for her.

I suppose if you didn't like it, no matter how many questions we answer, it won't change your opinion and that's obvious judging by how many people we tried to bring round

Batman shoot people? Really does that make sense, Batman has one rule. You must not read comics or pay close attention to the movies

Lacit, obviously the film wasn't for you. If you're asking "Why didn't Batman shoot people?", I can't even understand why you're watching it in the first place.

gotcha, thanks...i dont remember much from Batman Begins....but, just one thing to note in bolded above...

[Show spoiler]you say that it was done becuase Gotham was a shiithole...but when this was all done, it was actually turned around and basically no crime at all

you are right, answering my questions will not change my view of the film...but what you said makes sense and answers my question ....i never said i didnt like it...i said it was the weakest of the 3...maybe ill like it more if i watch them in a row?

its a comic book movie... its entertaining and served its purpose for me... ill probably end up buying it on BD, so that says it wasnt terrible imo

Definitely agree on that one. Nolan should have fleshed out her character more. Weakest part of the movie, imo.

Plus, I see it as a pride thing. Gotham's finest needed to prove that they could reclaim the city on their own. In doing so, they just reiterate that Batman isn't needed anymore. At that moment, his fight was with Bane. His last act was to clean up his own mess (the bomb).

And I could not disagree more... I just became a fan of Anne Hathaway and I'm dedicated to pay interest to her filmography from now on.

To each their opinion, but Catwoman never played it like a cat in the comics. Selina Kyle don't act like a cat or anything close. She's a cat burglar who was impressed but the costumed Batman, and she wear a costume but that's it.

In the comics, she act like Hataway play her in the movie: she's strong, smart and she do whatever can suit her best. That's probably the only Cat-wise similitude she do in the comics: doing what she want without any permission or outside morale, like a cat. My cat in the king in the house!!!

Batman Returns is a ridiculous Batman story. It's a good movie, but not a good Batman movie. The penguin is a monster, Catwoman is bringed back from the dead, has 9 lives and act like a kitty cat?! The scene when she clean herself was may favorite when I was 12 years old but when I later read the comics, I understood how wrong it was character-wise!

I'm surprised you're over the age of 12 based on your grammar.

Batman Returns is my favorite Batman film. It's firmly rooted in the Tim Burton universe. It makes more of the characters, which up until that point in comics, weren't exactly the most interesting villains. You may not like the direction, but I wouldn't slight someone for taking a character and making radical changes to them to fit their film, since Nolan did plenty of that for his trilogy.
I have no complaints about Pfeiffer or Hathaway. Both did two entirely different takes on the characters and both were great for different reasons. They both work well and are appropriate within the universes that they inhabit.
