Obviously, since I couldn't even muster up a top 10, this has been a quality vs. quantity kind of year for me. But my top 3 alone made it one of my favorite years in cinema in quite some time.

However, I still have not but REALLY need to see the following:

The Cabin in the Woods

The Raid: Redemption

Killer Joe

Worst (top 2 are biggest disappointments):

Upon re-watch, The Hunger Games really isn't that bad. It's also a damn fine blu-ray, with amazing PQ and AQ, so I took that one off the worst-of list. I also finally saw The Raid: Redemption. That was definitely a victim of over-hype. It did not live up to my expectations, and the PQ was HORRIBLE (which I guess is due to the original cinematography).

I saw The Cabin in the Woods too, and it was also a victim of the hype-machine. It was decent, but definitely not Top 5 of the year material. I loved the concept, and the execution was fine, but it didn't blow me away. At best, it might sneak in to my #10 spot.

I also re-watched Lovely Molly, and that one really does not hold up to a 2nd viewing. It's off the list, replaced by The Cabin in the Woods.

That's too bad. I saw it this past weekend and thought it was one of the creepiest movies I've seen in ages.
