Go back and pick an image. Load both shots of the same image under different tabs and switch back and forth, the effect is alot like turning the Darbee On/Off. It's a better gauge to see the differences I've found.

This. I have an original unit with the original firmware if I change my JVC from RGB or AUTO to ANY other colorspace I get the green overlay as well.

Highly unlikely Zippo. What spec HDMI cables are you using and how long are the cables?

Monoprice HDMI cables( http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...#specification )

PS3>3' HDMI>Darblet>5' HDMI>AVR>10' HDMI>TV

After spending a good portion of yesterday trying to get this to work, I decided to give it one more try this morning, before packing it up for return. I'm glad I did!

I first checked the PS3 menu again. Yesterday I checked under Display Settings & changed a couple of settings, with no positive effect.
This morning I checked under Video Settings & changed BD/DVD Video Output Format (HDMI) from Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr to RGB.
Problem solved( Thanks tkbryant & MrFattBill. )!

SWEET!! I figured it had to be something simple, it usually is. Things like that have happened to me before & then it turns out to be something you overlook. Now enjoy playing with that Darbee!

Anyone from Canada ordered one of these? How much was shipping? Duties and taxes through customs?

I've read so much on this that it's planned in the next few months.

That all depends on the display. Some display will have crushed blacks and others might not.

I've got a PS3 in the rack. I hardly use it. I switched my PS3 to auto the other night so it could send movies as Y,Cr,Cb and games as RGB. Everything seemed to work okay. I will have another go at it tonight.

Screenshots don't do the Darblet justice. It is something you have to see in person to really appreciate. I understand technically what it does, but if I had to use a simple phrase to explain it, it would be ( reveals texture in video images ).

The effect is subtle in these screenshots from Resident Evil Afterlife.

Well, my darblet shipped out from Rochester NY on Friday. Today, it is in Atlanta, GA.....really? I live in PA, so they shipped it past PA and sent it all the way down to GA, only to have to send it back up to PA tomorrow or Tuesday. And you wonder why the USPS is losing a boat load of money......can you imagine how much extra mileage is being put on this package unnecessarily? They don't call it "snail" mail for nothing....if you ask me, it is more like epic "fail" mail.

Hey, I hate to be the reporter of bad news. However it sounds like there is someting wrong with your unit. I tested the PS3 (slim) with this yesterday for you. I stuck in a game (RGB) which had no colour issues. Checked my Amp HDMI info and it said RGB in from PS3 and RGB out to the display. Put on iRobot (Y,Cr,Cb). Once again no issues. Amp reported Y,Cr,Cb in and Y,Cr,Cb out.

So it looks like something wrong with your particular unit. The Darbee should do both colourspaces. Can you change your effects by 1%? I have heard that older versions of the Darbee had colourspace issues. These were units that could only change the effect by 5% at a time. Newer models do 1% at a time with no colourspace issues.

Ok after spending the weekend with this new gadget I'm going to put this as simple as I can. If you do not buy or see this unit in action, then you might not need to get one, because you would not know what is missing from your display. But once you get one you will never want to go back to watching regular material. They should make some kind of carrying case with this unit so you can take it out on the road with you when you travel. It is simply amazing the subtle difference it makes to bring out the lifelike features in images being displayed on your PJ or TV.
