I wonder if they will change how they do the roster updates since "Franchise" is gone and are now in this new format of Connected Careers.

This is going to be different than Franchise Mode. More off field stuff. You are going to get XP The XP can be spent on off field stuff like on making it less likely your RB will retire at seasons end. Its all strategic team building stuff and there is a ton of it you can spend XP on, you can't use it for on field stuff though, like make your RB better.

There is going to be "fake" social Media. Its going to be like NFL.com with your team covered by a reporter. So when you scout a hot RB at say, USC, your team's beat reporter is going to "Tweet" that so the rest of the us will know who you are looking at in the draft. The draft is going to be something else. You better read those Tweets. The #1 pick might have a motorcycle wreck the week before the draft and have an ACL tear. Or he may choose to not play football at the last second and go to another pro sport. Social media was brought in instead of just putting up injury reports and scores and make it more interesting. You can Tweet or post your game to FB now too.

Connected Careers lets you play as a coach or a player. You could have a league of only QBs. Lots of diversity. Its also made so you don't have to start over and, I would guess, lose your XP. You just "retire' from whatever you are and move to another coach or player in that same group online. You can also set it up so you HAVE to be a head coach too.

There is something about XP levels too, in relation to what level coach you choose to be. If you are a crappy coach you are at the lowest level. I don't know if that effects your XP in what you can buy or how fast you make it, but I bet it does somehow.

You guys may want to check out the videos on Connected Careers at YouTube, there are many. Might save some confusion later. You may find yourself wanting a different team because you can do something like, perhaps, spend XP to lower the chance your starting players are injured.

Why does Madden insist on messing with the controls?!? Right-stick for kicking and R3 for presnap adjustments instead of Triangle. Please tell me the real game will have the option to change these.

Because they finally standardized the controls between NCAA and Madden for those of us who play both. If you go into the settings you can turn on d pad shortcuts and then you can use triangle for presnap adjustments. Right stick kick is just like NCAA and the way Madden used to be.

I know. Just frustrated because my disease has progressed to where using right stick to kick is nearly impossible. Looks like no FGs, punts, and only squibs for me.

I don't use my thumb to kick. I pinch the joystick with my thumb and index to move it. I only see myself playing a couple more years due to the arthritis in my hands.

League Balance: $80

Those that are wondering about switching teams, here's some of the answers based on experience running the Madden Leagues.

• Once Week 1 has been been played and you want to switch to a different team. You must donate an additional cost for that team. For example... You donated $8 for the Broncos in August. You already played Week 1 with the Broncos and you noticed that the Packers ($10) are available to the public and want to switch to them starting Week 2. That owner (YOU) must donate an additional $10 to the League to switch teams. No exceptions! If you end up quitting because of your busy schedule or just because you're losing. You will not receive a refund from me. Simply because it's considered wasting my time. The only exception is you can quit the League and receive a full refund before Week 1 is played. Anything after, there's no refunds.
  
• Regarding Owners from Group A. If you decline to not keep your team from Season 2 of Madden 12. You cannot select a random team just because the team you have is expected to drop once Madden 13 finalizes team overall ratings. If an Owner declines their current team, then they will be moved to Group B where it's first-come, first-served starting August 24.
  
• When Owners from Group A & Group B have donated for their teams. You can negotiate with other owners as far as switching teams. Work it out between the both of you, but everything must be finalize before Week 1 kicks off which is still TBA.
  
• Don't forget that this thread on Blu-ray.com is headquarters. We all communicate via thread posts, and Private Messaging and on occasion through PSN. I know some of you have Phone #'s and communicate with text messaging but lets get in the habit of using Private Messaging. I'm cool with text messages but that should be used as a last resort when PM's, or PSN messages are not being replied. Also please do not disclose your Phone #'s on this forum. I'm not responsible if your Phone # falls in to the wrong hands so that's why I strongly suggest that you contact your opponents via PM's, thread posts, or PSN messages. When I do collect Phone #'s, I never disclose them to anyone unless that Owner allows me to.

For those that are unaware. In both Madden and NCAA the outward slant hot route is gone as it is not seen in real life and was basically an exploit. You can not get around it by doing an inward slant and switching sides, it will change to an inward slant once it moves.

I've changed my philosophy in this game. Give me a fast defense, I'll figure out something on offense. Bengals in real life had a top 10 defense in the NFL. I am going through all the preseason games checking out who looks good, hoping that idiot that does the Madden rosters who calls himself a guru is doing the same for the release update.
