Cross game chat (this has to be a no brainer right?). This is pretty much gaurenteed to be included out of the box. Sony would love to have it on PS3 but they can't do it because of the RAM limitations. Just look at the Vita, even that has X-game chat! so PS4 is a cert.

A redesigned controller that fixes the curved R2/L2 shoulder buttons. Just give me the same controler with curved triggers, I use a pair of free add on triggers I got years ago and it makes the controler so much nicer to use.

Whilst they're at it I would really like it if they added a second HDMI port.

Until you've been in a clan trying to set up matches you don't realise how usefull cross game chat actually is. Everyone keeps going on about it like everyone just wants to use it to gossip to their friends about how their day went when thats just not the case for a lot of people.

It would make life so much easier being able to talk to the other 8+ people you are trying to organise in to 1 lobby than by using PS3s shitty text chat.

Yes, this is exactly why. The chat room makes setting things up so much easier than having to switch in and out of text rooms trying to communicate.

It has nothing to do with chatting with girls. Its also especially handy if the game server goes down.

that can already be done within the game you are playing, granted the developers put that feature in, which makes sense. Im with Groo. I really dont see the value in cross game chat for reasons he stated. I dont want to be bothered with people playing other games while Im playing my own. If everyone wants to organize a party to play a game together, then get with the game and talk from there.

Where the hell in my post did I ever say there was a problem with it and thatch would cause complaints if implemented in the PS4? I don't see the value in it for myself and am not crying for it but I don't begrudge anyone for wanting it. It'll definetly be in the next PS4 and I don't mind that. I really don't care one way or the other

No one said it SHOULDN'T have it... I'm just tired of hearing people cry about it. When I go to the PS blog to read about ANYTHING (new game, new DLC, new anything) the first few posts are people crying about cross game chat.

I'm sure it'll make it's way into the PS4. I'm sure the people that want it will be happy. I'm sure it'll never effect my life as a function of the system. I just can't wait for the damn day when I don't have to see those three words on EVERY post made about a PlayStation product.

Stupidly Sony waited years after they should have to say that it's not possible... Could have saved a lot of people a lot of tears.

Now if I could just get rid of those idiots that post "first" i'd be thrilled.

In the case for Cross-game chat, I'd like to add that gamers from over the network are generally far more willing to share their PSN IDs and/or Gamertags than they are their phone #s.

I don't have a problem with the cases, I just want them to stick with what font/logo they start with. The change with the PS3 covers mid-cycle was stupid. But I wouldn't have any problem with Criterion-style either, so both work for me

That said, I much prefer the new black spine to the old red one, which looked much "cheaper" if you will, less slick, less modern, less professional. What they really need to do is just take Cory Schmitz or some graphic design person to do a new template, especially for EU. Those cases are terrible. Red GH cases are hideous too. And the giant blue Move logo is unnecessary as well.

If it were up to me, Greatest Hits/Move would all be done via stickers. GH games would have the reg GH branding on the package via sticker for consumer awareness, but retain original packaging (at least the clear case for pete's sake). Same with Move: you can put a big-ass blue sticker on that thing all you want, just leave it minimal on the actual case.

Look at the first-run KZ3 box art (I'm aware this has French, but the NA first run was the same, with only 1 E3 red box instead of 2)

And yes, I know that was an absurd rant on a useless thing such as packaging. But I'm OCD. And packaging is something that is so easy to do the RIGHT way. Look at Criterion. A little goes a long way. Having a nice line of packaging is an easy fix, it's not like doing radical hardware changes or adjustments via firmware. Just design and print better stuff. Though if you said to me "Sony have bigger fish to fry than packaging." I'd probably agree.

Competitive pricing on digital content won't happen, period. I completely agree that it should, but Sony is so far behind in the digital content arena that they will never pull their head out and figure it out. God of War Origins, Jack & Daxter, Sorcery retail MSRP just dropped to 19.99. Digital? You still need to pony up 40 bones each forthem. There really is no reasonable excuse for the digital version to not drop in price at the same time, ESPECIALLY since the official retail price drop was Tuesday, the SAME day as the store update. As long as retail places exist, they will always have the price advantage. Convenience, no, but the almighty dollar affects more consumer decisions than convenience.

Cross game chat would be a nice feature, but I'm not really demanding it. But it's one of those things that isn't going to HURT anyone, so if you're against it, you're quite selfish.

Yeah thats not a common site, (the 2 box arts on the 1 case) but it's not limited to PS3 the xbox AC double pack has the same type of thing.

The Platinum range on a whole though I think looks freaking disgusting. Ever since PSX I've always thought the Platinum range has looked horrible.

I know they are cheap games range but that doesn't mean the design has to look cheaper than a $10 *****

To be fair, the PS1 Platinum games art looked snazzy

You didn't even really notice it as being distracting but with PS2 onwards it's been a PITA. They really should do away with the crappy design for something better soon enough

I'll always seek out a used non-platinum in a game shop before buying a new platinum if i get a chance and the price is right.

I think Sony has hit gold with their cross-buy idea. As long as they don't get greedy and keep a proper implementation that's free, they'll be drawing in big business. Sales overall would be up because it entices people to buy new in order to get the cross-buy offer rather than used.

Man, those EU Platinum PS3 cases look terrible. I thought the red ones we get here in North America were bad, but they're at least better than that lame gray plastic with canary yellow borders.

Also: Box-art-in-box-art is terrible, and people should be fired for using it. I flipped over my Jak & Daxter HD Collection cover as soon as humanly possible because it looked terrible.

agree, also I think there are very few games that are near filling the 50GB disk, so there is still a lot of room to grow. And if we assume that the console owners/ game developers will want to go DD, then bigger games become an even bigger issue for them.
