Someone could easily buy the Immersion box and sell everything individually and make back at least double what they paid.

But people are asking $40 for the DSOTM blu-ray disks

You might as well just spend the extra $60 and get the whole set!
I gladly paid $45 for the WYWH Blu-ray only. For a few bucks more than the SACD I have the 4.0 mix and the concert backdrop video as well. Had no interest in the whole set.

I wouldnt call all the stuff that came in the sets junk though, i thought there was some really cool shit, all of which ive used to decorate parts of my apt. (ok maybe the marbles were downright bizarre)but the tix stubs and backstage passes look pretty cool framed and hung up, as do the scarfs. The books are decent as well imo. I really thought the bluray disc was a great idea for the sets i mean 3 different high res versions of each album and even concert screen films. My only gripe is the wall set didnt have a bluray with multichannel high res versions.
I would love to see some pictures. Sounds like a cool idea, I might do it myself.

That's the problem, most people want the blu-ray and are lukewarm on the rest.

I agree, had the Blu-ray been available by itself at retail I wouldn't have bought it on e-bay like I did. I don't understand the thought process behind it only being available in a boxed set that isn't going to be purchased by the casual fan of Pink Floyd or multi-channel music. I'd be willing to bet the SACD will outsell the boxed sets by at least 10 to 1.

It's a problem for the serious music collector. If you like several different artists with these outrageously priced boxes, it's hard paying for all of them.

Everytime I walk past those Pink Floyd sets I'm shaking my head, I'd buy all BDs individually, but 100$ for stuff I don't care is never going to happen!

I'm still hoping that one day Blu-ray Audio Discs with 5.1 lossless tracks will be as popular as Blu-ray Movie Discs. This is the way to resell your old catalog, don't you see that??

Agree with the op, the boxed sets aren't doing audio BD format any favors for getting a foothold. Too bad since I really enjoy my concert BDs, and I would have wanted the Pink Floyd BDs if they had been singles.

Hi everyone.

This is my first post and I agree with the OP. Give us a separate BD audio (BDA?) release as well as a separate CD release and a separate box set (where appropriate).

I have a related pet peeve and it's about packaging:

1. CD release in standard CD plastic case packaging (never cardboard which is easily damaged).
2. BDA release with stereo and multi-channel options in a Super Jewel Box.

That ought to make it easier for the dudes who stock the shelves and for the customer to easily spot the BDAs among the CDs. It's a no-brainer.
