Costco Current Deals at Costco

Welcome to the new, revived Costco current deals post #1.

Post #1 (this one) will be the guidelines and standards. I'll try to keep them fair but flexible. Subject to change without notice. Your mileage may vary. Always bring a towel! ... Post #2 in this topic will be the usual coupon deals, rebates, etc. Post #3 will be reserved for notable releases, exceptional routine pricing, and limited availability products (holiday collectors' sets). I will be the arbiter of what "exceptional" and "limited availability" means. The purpose is to keep the lists cogent and relevant, and can be quickly referenced from mobile browser or forum app (Tapatalk). Watch post #3 during the holidays, forum members may report something pretty amazing.

Costco specials post includes:

[Show spoiler]
  • Costco published coupon specials
  • Costco instant rebates (may not be in coupon book)
  • Special pricing for any BD/DVD due to stocking issues (e.g. they couldn't stock the product for the coupon, so marked down another product; yes, this happens, albeit rarely)

Costco deals post includes:

[Show spoiler]
  • Collector sets (e.g. movie plus collectable, limited edition sets, "ultimate" editions) at substantial savings
  • Other notable label or title releases (e.g. Criterion Collection titles, Pixar Collectors Gift Sets, MGM-Warner UCE boxed sets for classic films), also at substantial or unusual savings

These posts will not include:

[Show spoiler]
  • Manufacturer special stickers (e.g. free tickets with purchase, contests)
  • Titles with extras that are available elsewhere, e.g. booklet, CD, toy (excepting holiday deals, and at OP's discretion)
  • Music CDs
  • Routine pricing information (as per Hot Deals forum rules) that is consistent with online and b&m sellers
  • Film-related books (e.g. 1001 Films You Must See Before You Die); these may be included during holidays

But: feel free to discuss them in the topic thread!

Valid sources:

[Show spoiler]
  1. Costco monthly mailer(s)
  2. Costco mobile app
  3. Costco web site (not monitored, user reports appreciated!), Adamcos.com
  4. User reports (see below)

User reports:

[Show spoiler]

Please identify price, store location (or have your location in your user profile). A snapshot, or package description helps. Links to Blu-ray.com title listing gets you a gold star! PM me with any questions, or just post what you've got and we'll roll with it.

Hot tip: having the My Movies by Blu-ray.com app on your mobile, so you can look up the title on the spot, will tell you not only if the price is exceptional, but if the site has already identified the title. You can zap the film's UPC right with your phone camera to do an immediate lookup for the film/release. Super easy!

It's available on iTunes and the Android Play Store.

Pricing and stocking tips: if a price ends in .97 (97), it is priced to go, may be reduced pricing, and could be in limited supply! I've seen products priced like $x.97 on Tuesday, on Saturday they're gone (sometimes to another store). ... An asterisk ("*") in the upper right corner of a price tag indicates the product will not be re-stocked.

There are no "secret" or "unadvertised" sales. If signs are missing in the store for a rebate, tell the store staff! As much as possible, we post item numbers and details, so you can help the staff find the item. Also post item numbers so others can ask store staff where an item is available if not in their usual store. (E.g. Closeout items may be moved to an area store, some limited item BDs may be only in some stores. Particularly Criterion Collection!)

Thanks for the update. Every now and then Costco does have some good deals. I keep forgetting for some reason that they do accept coupons.

They don't really accept coupons (just the ones they give out). I guess the manufacturer let costco discount the prometheus copies $5 just like the print outs on coupons.com.

That $41.99 price on the boxed Blade Runner release so far is the lowest I have seen.

Why does the Life Of Pi money have to be on nothing but crappy movies (except Fantastic Mr. Fox, which I already own)?

Earlier this year they had all three Hitchcock films (Rebecca, Notorious, Spellbound) plus Annie Hall, Manhattan, and The Apartment all for 9.99 each so they do stock the "classics" now and then. They also had the Singin in the Rain UCE for $54.99 which was the cheapest I'd seen it. Currently they have Dial M For Muder 3-D for 24.99. I'm hoping they stock Strangers On A Train soon. It's worth rumiging through their 20 boxes of Beverly Hills Chihouha to find a gem or two buried in there

ps: I've NEVER seen a good Disney BD deal on Costco, Best Buy & Target always beat them on Disney

It's not a masterpiece of cinema, but I found it to be very enjoyable. Its a bit different than the book though. I'll probably grab it. For the price (including movie money) its very much worth it.

For a while they had all the Disney BDs for $16.99 after a coupon, which was a great deal.

You must not have been around last year when Costco had those awesome Pixar collector sets for $10.

The problem I usually have with Costco is that the packaging is beat up. When they had the Warner digibooks and the big Pixar gift sets, most of them had crushed corners and such. Granted, the prices were very good, but it's a little annoying if you're a collector.

I hear you. Although I've been pretty lucky lately when it comes to things. Heard quite a few horror stories on the digibook, but mine were fine in my store. I picked up Willy Wonka a month or so ago.
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?
