wasn't this team like the worst in the big 12 (along with Baylor beside last year) for the last 20 some odd years? then first year in SEC they beat the defending national champs - IN THEIR HOUSE - with a redshirt freshmen? what a wacky world we live in!

i almost feel bad for the A&M QB (Manziel right?). he's probably never gonna be a hotter commodity than right now / this season and he can't enter the draft lol (saying this believing they have to play 2 or 3 years, unlike college b-ball)

In 2010, they beat 2 top 10 teams, Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Last year they lost to #7 Ok St (by 1), #18 Arkansas (by 4), #25 Texas (by 2) and #14 K St (by 3 in 4OT).

And if he's redshirt, he only has to play 1 more year (have to be 3 years out of HS).

I've always thought Kiffin was an arrogant prick. But a lot of the stuff he pulls plenty of other quality coaches pull. Urban Meyer acted like a spoiled brat all the time at UF. But I suppose 2 national titles cuts you some slack.

Seems to be that K-State benefits from the Big-12 no longer having a conf title game. They only need to win out by beating Baylor and Texas to make the national championship.

Yeah easily Oregon has the hardest games left. This is the year were you really don't want to play a conf title game.

Ya, but of the 3 remaining undefeated teams I still think Notre Dame is most likely to lose. They'll probably lose at USC the final game.

Right now, I think Manziel has a very good shot at being the first freshman Heisman award winner.

Geno will still be up there, but I think his team's complete collapse has greatly hurt his chances.

It's Klein's to lose at this point. Manziel has had a great freshman season, but I think Klein has been better this season. It's great to see Texas A&M so competitive in the SEC, that was a great addition for the conference. Kevin Sumlin has done a great job with this team, he seems to have been the right man for the job without question.

Have you looked at the stats? Manziel has more passing yards (2780 vs 2020), more rushing yards (1014 vs 748), more passing TDs (18 vs 12). Only thing he's down on are rushing TDs (15 vs 19) and INTs (6 vs 3).

Not to mention, one is doing it in a conference with no defense, and the other in a conference with some of the best defenses.

I'm well aware of the stats, but I don't see him winning if Kansas State goes undefeated. Klein leading Kansas State to the national title game will get him a ton of first place votes. It's his Heisman to lose at this point.

ESPN just showed a College Gameday commercial with the guys talking to the West Virginia head coach. Herbstreit told him "Defense is holding up well". I hope this was filmed before the season.

Herbstreit says some really stupid things at times. West Virginia gives up 41.4 points per game. That's 121st out of 124 D1 teams.

USC could single handedly make this whole BCS picture pure chaos. Imagine if they beat Notre Dame and Oregon. Now I think they will beat Notre Dame, but beating Oregon is going to be a tough task.

I, personally, think the Big 12 has been closer to the SEC than SEC homers will ever be willing to admit. And I think Texas A&M proves it. Yes, they had only "good" losses last year. But that's kind of the point, the Big 12 has enough "good" teams to give them several "good" losses.

On the other hand, I believe that the best coaches in the nation are in the SEC, which is why they have such bowl success. Bowls, being so far removed from the regular season, are all about coaching and preparation IMHO.

*EDIT* And, in fact, saying that the 4th place team in the SEC would be #1 in the Big 12 is exactly the arrogance all SEC homers display. :P
