Brand: Samsung
Model: PN51E550 Calibration: ISF on 7/28/2012 Here are ALL MY SETTINGS that were adjusted by the technician. Picture Mode: Movie Cell Light: 20 Contrast: 80 Brightness: 45 Sharpness: 20 Color: 46 Tint (G/R): G50/R50 ---Advanced Settings--- Dynamic Contrast: Off Black Tone: Off Flesh Tone: 0 RGB Only Mode: Off Color Space: Auto ---White Balance--- R-Offset: 26 G- Offset: 23 B-Offset: 29 R-Gain: 26 G-Gain: 23 B-Gain: 26 -------------------- Gamma: 0 Motion Lighting: Off (greyed out) -------------------- ---Picture Options--- Color Tone: Warm2 Digital Noise Filter: Off MPEG Noise Filter: Off HDMI Black Level: Off (greyed out) Film Mode: Off (greyed out) After having the calibration done, the technician did say that the settings my TV shipped with were very close to centered as he put it. He showed me the color graphs and everything, and he was right. But, even after the calibration, I did notice much richer colors, and much better color separation. Everything looks a lot more vivid and clean without being too over saturated. All in all, I am happy I got the service done. Free, at that. Hi all, first post on this very informative forum!
My Samsung UE55ES7000 just arrived yesterday and I can't seem to find the most optimal display settings for watching blu-rays. Any help would be much appreciated! |

I sincerely apologize if this has been asked in this thread already, but I went back several pages and I couldn't find anything. I am about to purchase the UN55ES7500 this upcoming week and any custom dislay settings would be helpful.
Also, Geek Squad offers a calibration service for about $250 and they make it sound like the best thing since sliced bread. Does anyone know if it's worth it? Thanks!

ES7500 Calibration Notes: Calibration Notes: The ES7500 calibrated pretty close to D6500K from the Movie setting. There was just a blue push on the top end and red push on the low end. Once you have followed the following settings all you need to adjust is the backlight up or down depending upon room light and how much screen uniformity is affecting the picture. Lower backlight will eliminate screen uniformity issues. We recommend a backlight of 12 for most rooms. Post Calibration Settings Picture Mode Movie Backlight 12 Contrast 92 Brightness 47 Sharpness 0 Color 50 Tint G50/R50 ADVANCE SETTINGS Dynamic Contrast Off Black Tone Off Flesh Tone 0 RGB Only Mode Off Color Space Custom 10pt White Balance On Gamma 0 Expert Pattern Off Motion Lighting Off LED Motion Plus Off PICTURE OPTIONS Color Tone Warm2 Digital Noise Filter Off MPEG Noise Filter Off HDMI Black Level Low Film Mode Off Auto Motion Plus Off Smart LED Standard Cinema Black Off 10PT WHITE BALANCE ON Interval Red Green Blue 1 -1 1 0 2 -7 -4 -4 3 -8 -6 -7 4 -6 -5 -7 5 -3 -2 -5 6 -2 -1 -3 7 -1 -1 -4 8 0 -2 -3 9 0 -2 +7 10 +6 0 -5 COLOR SPACE Color Space Red Green Blue Red 48 0 0 Green 0 52 0 Blue 0 0 55 Yellow 50 50 0 Cyan 0 50 50 Magenta 50 0 50 AUTO MOTION PLUS - CUSTOM Blur Reduction 5 Judder Reduction 2 |

I calibrated my Samsung 720p 3D plasma the other day.
I've had it for nearly 2 years but the defaults looked fine, the posted values at tweakmytv looked fine,..... I just didn't bother. I love calibrating my projector and I figured maybe calibrating a different type of display would be fun. It was so easy and the results we so good. Gave me a much higher respect for the inexpensive set I picked up as part of a Black Friday sale.
