First of all, decent pics (finally! ), & now we'll just wait for some nice Screen Shots when you've had a chance to set it all up & calibrate everything

Secondly, sounds like you had a very knowledgeable & patient Cable/Satellite guy on the phone with you --- glad it worked out for you, even if it took a bit longer than you prob expected.

lastly, that screen size diff is manageable, from 110" to 100" isn't like going from say, 120" to 96", right?

Sorry I haven't been able to update this thread as soon as I'd like.

Over the weekend I was able to mount the Samsung D7000 LED set on the main floor...



I think it looks great! It's like a picture frame on the wall. I'll be sure to take better pictures when I get the chance.

I've also was able to setup most of the components in the stand. I'm still waiting for the velcro straps to arrive from monoprice. There's WAY more cables run in the back of that thing then I had originally thought.

I'm also tweaking the Harmony 1100. It's not playing nice sometimes time with my receiver.

I also installed the strike plates on all of the doors, and I need to give the floor in the powder room a nice wash.

The velcro straps arrived today (along with a few other small items) from Monoprice, so I was able to finish tackling the mess of wires in the tv stand.




I had to leave a bit of slack since I have to now tackle the rear, and that won't fun at all. From the seating position, you can't see any of the cables.

I'm finally ready to setup and calibrate the sound this weekend. It should be a good time. I also have to put some hours on my projector so that I can have that calibrated as well.

Oh and the couch with chaise on the correct side will be delivered this weekend along with the captain's chair. I can't wait to watch some soccer and a movie sitting in that comfy chair

Well guys, the couch and recliner were delivered, and I have to say that the space is FINALLY usable!

Man I'm so happy. All the effort, time, and money that I've spent in the basement has finally paid off.

I'd take pictures but I'm actually going to watch a movie with my wife this evening. I'll be sure to take them for you all tomorrow!

Yeah it's a bit much but at the end of the day, is it ever enough HAHA!

Oh and the 360 faceplate came with a Shump game (Deathsmiles) that I had purchased a while ago.

Alright guys, so I was able to snap a few pictures of the couch and recliner for you. I'll be sure to take more once I button up a few things (vents, painting, hanging up posters and pictures).

As of right now, the space is functional I've been kicking my feet up and enjoying the space. It's funny, I used to hate going to the basement. It's probably because it involved some sort of work that needed to be done.

I was able to watch a few movies as well this weekend. I think I put like 10 hours on this thing HAHA!

Anyways, on with the pictures...





I plan to plug the lamp in a socket behind the couch. I need to buy an extension cord.

I'll be sure to snap a few of the electronics as that's why we are here correct? I have to do a few minor things with them as well.

Overall it was a great feeling being able to sit down, crank the volume up and watch some movies (along with some sports).

Question for you. The SIDE Surrounds are very clean looking being In-Wall. Any reason why that design wasn't continued with the Rear Surrounds?

NOT saying it looks bad or anything, just curious as to why you went with the down-facing spkrs in the back.

Also, have you had time to dial in the whole setup

No worries, the speakers I had bought as a 5.0 set. I liked what I had heard in the show room so I decided to run the same in the space. I would have liked to use a matching set for the side, but they'd stick out like a sore thumb. I figured that if I really didn't like what I was hearing, I could always just install in-walls for the rear as well.

For what I had heard over the weekend, I think I'll be running this setup for a long time

I wanted to have my friend come over this weekend in order to help me out with running Audyssey, but he couldn't make it. I'll try to have him come by sometime this week, whenever he's not busy.

Fair enough & thanks for the (Detailed!) explanation. Plus, IF you don't like them as Much as you thought (in the showroom) and/or down the line (a few months away/longer), you can always go In-Wall as you said. As long as YOU & the Mrs. ENJOY what you hear (& see of course), that's ALL that matters. I was just curious, as I thought the In-Wall look was very stylish myself. If I owned my own place, I might try that also.

As for calibrating/running Audyssey, I'm sure you'll hear an even better Audio Experience than what you have the last 2-3 days. Does he have an SPL Meter also? That would really help quite a bit. It'll dial your stuff in very nicely.

The theater has a great looking ambience from the pictures.

Maybe I did not catch this earlier, are the 2 things on the side walls that blend with the wall colour, the in-wall speakers?

The in walls are great, and they didn't break the bank (which is nice for once). I think for our next house, I plan to install a set on the main floor.

My friend is a ISF Calibrator and I believe he has all of the goodies to make this place sound and look great. I will have to check with him to see what he has/plans to use in order to calibrate the space.

Thanks my man, I'm taking it easy as of late since I can actually use the space. I do plan to do some actual work this weekend and I'll be sure to take more pictures once I've cleaned up a bit.

Yes those are my in wall speakers. I think I had taken better pictures of them a few pages back.

They were the only way I could make the 7.2 surround sound work for this space.
