There, it's been said now. [Show spoiler] Also, this movie was decent, but the beard-to-mustache ratio was way off.

Actually I did and it's Spielberg's best since Schindler's List. But please, continue being condescending.

It's the Emancipation 150th, so he made a movie about the Proclamation and the Amendment, as its own historical climax. Spielberg also made a movie about the Munich athlete attack, but he didn't make it about all sixteen days of the Olympics, starting with the opening ceremonies. Directors have focus, that way. |

Just got back and what a great film it was. I thought Denzel was great in "Flight" when I saw it a couple weeks ago but Lewis should win Best Actor hands down. IMO this was Spielberg's best work since Schindlers List (Yes even better than SPR)
Why do studios continue to re-release films on BD when so many catalog titles still are not released?
Wants on BD: La Dolce Vita and La Strada (Criterion), Somewhere in Time, Time After Time, Hooper, King Kong (1976), Urban Cowboy, Murder By Death and The Burbs |

Let me be perfectly clear... 'Lincoln' WILL win the Oscar for Best Motion Picture of 2012, Daniel Day-Lewis WILL win the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and Steven Spielberg WILL win the Oscar for Best Director!
FABULOUS movie! 5 out of 5 stars isn't high enough so the Booth Bijou is rating it at 10 stars out of 5! Mark |

If Les Mis changes my opinion, so be it. But if 'Lincoln' had come out last year, it would have beaten both 'The Artist' and 'Hugo' at Oscar time. And I loved both of those films! Mark |

Do u guys think Denzel will get nominated? The Academy's dont give Zel enough respect. I think he should damn near get nominated in just about every film he does but he doesnt. Denzel to me is easily the best actor period but I never think twice about him getting recognition from the academies. Got Em!!

Which I have to admit, had always had a morbid curiosity for me to find out, well, apart from that, Mrs. Lincoln, just how WAS the play? (History records the line of dialogue at which the shot occurred, but no reviews as to whether it was good or not.) |

I just saw this at my nearby theater tonight. It was a pretty fascinating film, pretty sentimental, but still a great, well made film. I'm still imagining what if Liam Neeson was playing Abe Lincoln? As great as Danial Day Lewis was as President Lincoln, with fantastic make-up, It felt like Neeson would have been more appropriate for the role, for his posture, charisma and presence, acting style he could have made a great Lincoln. Just thinking.
I really love Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevenson, especially since his deadpan personality really felt more at home in his role. I would have watched another 2 and a half hours just on Mr.Stevenson.

I was shocked when I saw JGL in the trailers. Never realized that he had ascended from Indy flicks like 500 days to Oscar caliber movies like this one. |
