so in a first for me... Im watching transformers, its on at -14, where I would normally be and at the point at which bumblebee shoots a cannon fire from the back of the tow truck into a decepticons chest, and the thing dies, theres a really low bass note... it litterally shook the wall of my bedroom, it scared me.

im not sure, i listened to that cd once then it went into the wifes car.... again why computer audio is becoming my source material lately. Ill have to get it out of the car and rip it to the laptop.

I have noticed that theres little things in this movie I never remember hearing. the improvement in detail with the focus speakers is incredible. Im mean you can hear the clinck of a chain or the dirt under their feet, even when theres other things going on... its incredible.

its just got so many different sounds , i thought you would enjoy it thru the 160s

Had to reread this post as when you said the thing dies I thought you were talking about your sub. Had to go back to he previous page to see if I missed something, was glad to figure out that wasn't the case.

I don't understand why some people think that you need great speakers for music but for movies you can use almost any old speakers. I think great speakers are needed for both and the idea that you can downgrade for movies isn't completely right. The added detail from speakers like your 160's is welcomed in my book. The same discussion is had quite often about moving from the Digm Studios to the Sigs, I think the move is worth it for movies as well but most feel the cost isn't justified. Like you've experienced a person just needs to spend some time listening to hear what a real difference it makes.

yeah, it was kinda an eye opener that there was so much other things that were pulled out of the soundtrack then what I knew was there. were those sounds intentional? probably not, but they were sounds that were caught by the mics and its cool to know that the speakers are reproducing every sound you could hear. im actually amazed at how much extra the Focus pick out over the Excites.

there is a drawback to all this tho.... watching Band of Brothers lately and in the second episode, when Hall from Able company and Lt Winters have landed after their jump and they go walking thru the forests, it sounds like a soundstage and not a real forest... that fake sound was kinda annoying.
