I couldn't believe there was something wrong with my lens or drive because it was only happening with the one film (which happened to be "Safe" by Boaz Yakin - good film btw). All my other discs were fine.
It turned out there is one setting on the ps3 which was causing the failure to play properly. It would play the initial copyright notice then go to black screen and loose all signal. On the PS3 main page, go to Settings>DisplaySettings>VideoOutputSettings>HDMI> Custom> then make sure everything is switched on, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p. It was the 1080p one that was causing my problems. Now I can play it fine and I'm a happy man. Hope this helps some of you out Pi π |
