Spielberg's Lincoln

I must say I was a bit skeptical after reading Ondorff review of Lincoln.

However I'm just back from the theater and I was relieved, cause it's an amazing movie. They could've easily fall in the assassination of Lincoln easily, but they didn't. DDL gives an Oscar worthy performance.

A must see movie.

People applauded when it ended and I live on the South shore of Montreal.

I think Liam wouldve been just as good. Dude is a great actor and to me he is more versatile. There is a reason DDL only does these slow boring drawn out drama films. I am not bashing the dude but I just dont like or am not interested in most the films that he does. I think Liam wouldve been a perfect Lincoln. Got Em!!

BTW... Great film... DDL will Win a 3rd Best Actor Oscar(which he should already have for GONY)... Becoming the first to ever do so.

Only complaint about the film is that it ended 3-4 minutes too late... The shots of him walking down the hallway in the Whitehouse should have been the ending... And I believe when he turns that corner will be where I'll push the stop button when I watch the Blu-Ray.

Other than that, it was Aces.

You really need to explain this one. That makes no sense whatsoever. You are right though there is a reason it's called choice and DDL chooses not to make or sell out to run of the mill films.

Denzel Washington should have played Lincoln. He's the greatest acor of all time. And can perfect any role.

I dont need to explain anything. If u dont get it then thats on u. DDL does the same Academy bate type films. I wonder if he could be funny and do a comedy, can he do action and put on a performance like Liam did in Taken? Just curious as he never does that type of stuff. Its ok to do those kind of films or does he think he is to good for those roles? Got Em!!

This film was a masterpiece, Spielberg's best since Saving Private Ryan. I was not expecting that.

I didn't allow myself to build up hype at risk of being disappointed but I felt that, given the time Spielberg allowed for development, Kushner writing, and the cast Spielberg assembled that we were in for something special.

No, because yours is far from it. DDL is the most celebrated living actor of our time. That's not opinion, that's fact. People who can't recognize that have no business discussing film, period.

DDL is the most celebrated actor right now (I assume that is what you meant by "of our time," because I would think that De Niro, Pacino, Hoffman and such are more celebrated living actors, but mostly for work done decades ago).

That's arguably fact, yes.

Even that is a suspect claim though, but for the sake of this, let's assume he is the "most celebrated" actor, whatever that means.

That doesn't mean anyone has to like him, or "should" like him, or even that is "good" on any kind of objective scale.

Personally I'm a fan, but I'm not about to shove that down anyone's throat.
