Also, if it was fanmade, the transfer would match from the BD release. People here are noting that the transfer looks slightly different from the BD presentation.

This shows JP in its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio. It's never been released or produced for scope ratios.

The OAR is 1.85:1 and yes it is official. It's even on Apple Trailers.

But I'm hearing such good things about it, it can't have possibly been in 3D. I guess I should go watch Life of Pi again(I was already planning to, but now I really want to see this Jurassic Park trailer) |

In the case of Jurassic Park 3D, the official word is "digitally restored", there is no mention of 6K or 4K, or even 2K. But I can definitely see a bit more detail in the picture that wasn't there in the original Blu Ray, and I have noticed carefully. But still, the depth is lacking. And I am especially disappointed knowing that the modern mastering tools are so good that they make a seventies film look stunning, but a 90's film doesn't look as good even after being "digitally restored". I guess by "digitally restored" they were trying to hide that this is not a 4K "restoration", unlike Titanic (1997), but merely a 2K "remaster". Because restoration would have made it look stunning and much fleshed out, whereas it looks average now, with little to no depth in the picture. I guess they were saving money for a 3D conversion!

Oh, I hope they release the 3D Bluray in open-matte 1.78:1 rather than 1.85:1(academy flat), 'cause 3D with black bars is very distracting. I hate when scope movies(2.40:1) in Blu are in 3D. The 3D effect getting cut off vertically takes one out of the experience! The 2D can be 1.85:1.

They are only tiny black bars. Not a big deal to me.
