My favorite film of 2012 so far. I could have easily stayed seated in the theater and watched the next showing. Spielberg and company have really come up with an engrossing, entertaining drama that just flies right by. Lewis deserves Best Actor without question, and Tommy Lee Jones hopefully will be up for Best Supporting Actor.

I felt like Tommy Lee Jones played a mid 1800s version of himself. I almost laughed when he tried to muster up some tears at the end.
On another note, I wonder how many ppl went into this movie realizing the Democratic party used to be the racist one until they got pushed out by the liberals and became republican.
If you're reading this, you can read.

Have had the chance to screen this amazing film two times since its release. I am really hoping Daniel Day-Lewis & Tommy Lee Jones win academy awards for each of their respective performances.

How was the score? I want a honest answer, not uuuh, John Williams sucks, he has lost his touch.!!
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Anybody hear that? It's a, um... It's an impact tremor, that's what it is... I'm fairly alarmed here.

spf said it best. In fact, I was so mesmerized by the drama on screen, I hardly noticed the score at points.

Spader was great. In fact, that cast was pretty awesome across the board.

Gave it four stars. Excellent movie. Not the best of the year so far for me. I thought Silver Linings playbook was better. Loved Tommy lee Jones performance. It was more about the passage of the 13 amendment than Lincon. Still quality film making.

This is the first movie that I have seen in the theaters since Tom Cruise's Valkyrie, (LOTR:TTT before that) and I suspect that it will be the last one I go to for a great long while. Saw it the same multiplex. It's a fairly modern theater...built back in the early '90s, with 3D capability, but the theater I just saw Lincoln in, the PQ was just aweful. Not much better than DVD quality, if that. Very soft, fine detail was non-existent, and distant objects, were out of focus. I think I'd rather just wait for the BD from now on.

It was pretty good, some parts were great, some parts dragged on, I hate to say.
Day-Lewis was great as expected, but nowhere near what he accomplished as Daniel Plainview. Of course, the film as a whole was a lot weaker than There Will Be Blood. I'm sure he'll be up for Best Actor and may well win, but (offhand) Denzel in Flight and Joaquin Phoenix in The Master are both far more deserving, I would say. One of the better Spielberg films, but it's no Jaws or Schindler's List.

The best film of the year. For me, no matter what comes out at the end of the year, it's not beating this in my eyes. Just sheer brilliance. Is Spielberg really in his late sixties?
