Onkyo 606 HDMI issues - Page 3 - Blu-ray Forum

Guess I finally started getting the dreaded Onkyo HDMI issues. Just ordered some capacitors, will try to solder this weekend and see if that fixes it. My ps3 still gets signal but I mostly use my htpc now so I need a working signal for that.

Been a good 4 year run

You are lucky..mine went bad in 12 months..got it fixed..went out again...didn't feel like driving an hour each way again..gave it away for almost nothing...bought a Pioneer..no problems whatsoever.. that was over two years ago.

Ps3 still works but I mostly use my htpc now so that's the main issue. Can take up to 5 minutes to get a signal from my video card. 4 years though was a good run.

Once mine got fixed ive had no issues so far.

Same here (4 years as well). Instead of risking a DIY repair or spending money to get it fixed (someone of eBay fixes them for $75 plus shipping), I ordered an HDMI switcher from Amazon. The Cable/STB input still works like a champ, so I'll just leave it on that input and hope that I'll be able to put off buying a new receiver for now.

Mine started dropping the signal intermittently in the last month or so. Thought it was hdmi cables, then possibly my TV. Was just narrowing it down to my receiver when I googled and found how many people have HDMI problems with the receiver. I already had to have the receiver fixed once for the power source buzzing crazy loud, and that was a pain. Was without it for weeks shortly after I bought it. Now this. Debating whether I should bother to try and get it fixed or just get a new one. If Onkyo will pay for the repair I might fix it and keep it as a backup too. I have to say, I've owned a lot of receivers over the years, and this is the only one that ever needed repair. And now it needs 2 repairs. Not impressed with Onkyo build quality.
