They should release more GREAT steelbooks.
The only interesting one now is The Dark Knight Rises... They should release steelbooks for movies that don't have a steelbook release yet and the design should be perfect. So with embossing and debossing, inside artwork, no text print on the back but on a data card, multiple discs and a lot of extra's. A steelbook release should be the best and most complete release. Not like the 'The Rock - Armageddon - Die Hard' wave of Play.com. |

Only must haves for me now. No more catalogue titles unless they're cheap and have amazing artwork. Need to cutdown on the madness

They've probably run out of shit ideas. I mean.... 'Cloverfield' FFS.

Cloverfield is far from the worst of the Play exclusives. Regardless of what you think of the film (not a fan I'm guessing) the DVD steelbook is amazing so, in terms of steelbooks, it's one that deserves a blu-ray version. It's fantastic. |

That's all I meant by it. I was speaking more of a film fan. There are so many incredible films they could have chosen with regards to Paramount's catalog to release as a steelbook. Great film, great packaging. I'm buying.

Along this line, I'm wondering how a film is chosen to get the steelbook treatment.
I personally only buy steelbooks if it's a really good film and it has really good artwork. I can understand really good movies the the Nolan Batman Trilogy getting the steelbook treatment, but some movies completely bomb - they suck - and still get the steelbook treatment, while other good movies are not considered. Seems strange to me. |

They release too many, thye aren't premium and it's no longer fun.
I'm out for all but the very special releases.

I was expecting this to be a gag thread. Caddyshack is real cheap right now. Should I hold out?

It seems to be quantity over quality.
The sad thing is most people want this.
