I 2nd Gears of War. That was the reason I bought a 360 and it is an awesome ride(all 3).
I would recommend Halo. I am not the biggest fan however no argument that it is one of the best exclusives on 360. If you like racing, Forza Horizon is a must own. Alan Wake (American Nightmare) is awesome. Must own. Steel Battalion is awesome Hybrid. Fable games. That's about it. Problem is most can be played on PC.

I've been an Xbox player since the beginning and there are two titles that go together for me...Gears of War and Halo. Although both of the series' are awesome, get right in with Gears of War 3 and Halo 4. They explain what happen, are up to date graphics and have lots of people online playing the multiplayers which are fantastic.

I'm a big Halo fan as well. The main reason I didn't mention it in my previous post is because it doesn't use a control layout quite like more "up-to-date" shooters and this seems to turn a lot of players off nowadays. If you can get past this then I highly recommend the series. The only issue you may run into is that Halo 2 is an Xbox release and to date they have not put out a 360 edition (like they have with the original Halo). Copies are plentiful, but you can't stroll into a GameStop and pick one up. Halo 3 ODST is an offshoot that takes place at the same time as Halo 2/3, but at a different location and Halo: Reach is a prequel to the series. I haven't played Halo Wars, but from what I understand it's an RTS game and not a first person shooter at all.
I'm going to respectfully disagree with Gardenofstone10 and suggest you play them in order. I'm kind of a stickler for that though and my OCD doesn't like getting out of sequence. To me it's more fun seeing the mysteries be slowly revealed as you go rather than to get all the answers up front. He does bring up a good point about the graphics though. Be prepared for the older games to look a bit dated. Overall, I'm not trying to say he's "wrong" by any means. I'm just expressing a different opinion on the matter.

Yes, yes I am but trading a bunch old Pokemon and Yugioh cards for a still sealed XBOX 360 you can't go wrong
So far I'm not a fan of this connect nonsense though. I'm starting with Gears of War then the following sequels, besides Skyrim are there any other good RPG's on the box? Last edited by Galactus; 11-29-2012 at 11:34 PM. |

Gears of War trilogy is must play as soon as you get your hands on the 360. Beautiful graphics, immersive sound, all wrapped up with an epic and emotional storyline. The whole trilogy is available for the 360 so you shouldn't have any problems cathcing up.
Halo is also a big recommendatio, but Steve said all about that. Alan Wake was a 360 exclusive, but it's also available on PC now. Quite interesting story with, hands down, one of the best lightning effects in video games. Ever. But that are just the 360 exclusives. There are plenty of excellent multiplatform games as well available on the 360. As of RPGs, i highly recommend Mass Effect trilogy, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and The Witcher 2. |

My list is a little more varied than the general Halo and gears you seem to have been given in abundance.
PGR 3/4 Crackdown Forza Series ( if not a big fan of track based sim racers try Forza Horizon, Open world, good mix of sim and arcade) Lost Odyssey Fable 2 Trials HD/evolution ( these are Xbox live arcade titles but simply awesome) Metro 2033 and obviously Gears of war series Halo series

I lied I started on Halo 4 and Forza 3
![]() Funny story about Forza. I was browsing the xbox section of Gamestop a couple of other gamers were trading some games in and the cashier wouldn't take Forza because it had "scratches". Well when they got done I checked out, upon going outside the two guys asked if I was interested in a racing game and offered to give me Forza 3 I asked why they were getting rid of it and apparently they got the red ring of death. The disc only had a few minor scratches and it plays fine BTW: thanks everyone for the recommendations |

Well, retail games, let's see...
Dead or Alive 4 Gears of War 1 Gears of War 2 Gears of War 3 Gears of War Judgement Viva Piņata: Party Animals Viva Piņata: Trouble in Paradise Too Human Forza Horizon Forza Motorsport 2 Forza Motorsport 3 Forza Motorsport 4 Alan Wake Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Halo Reach Halo 4 Halo Combat Evolved These are the ones I remember, but here's more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor...360-only_games Kinect also has its own games, but I wouldn't count much on them. Check the XBLA section (Arcade Games), it has free full great games, though they tend to be short. Anyway, the games I play most of the time are Call of Duty MW2/MW3 and Race Driver GRID, no Gears of War or Halo. Not a fan of GoW/Halo. |
