Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports hears Brian Wilson's first choice (aside from the Giants) would be to pitch for the Dodgers next year (Twitter links). Wilson lives in Los Angeles during the offseason and will likely be non-tendered later this week.

Well I can't blame the guy for wanting to play with the Dodgers as his home is in L.A.... Money talks and the Dodgers have a lot to go around.... I also can't blame the Giants as an organization as this is an important business decision and paying a guy $8+Million a year who's coming off of tommy John surgery is quite a risky move... Especially when Romo has developed into such an elite closer

Either way he will always be a true Giant and was a huge part of our 2010 World Series run and I will never forget that.... The beard will always live on

I really didn't expect Upton to get that big a contract. He's really talented but is very undisciplined at the plate and has been among the top 10 in strikeouts each of the past 4 seasons, which has been a big reason his batting average hasn't topped .246 since 2008. He's also had instances where he didn't hustle, which must run in the family as his brother Justin has the same tendency.

And can you believe at one point MLB players had to work a second job in addition to playing ball so they could make a living.

Wasnt just MLB, All sports guys upto like the mid to end of the 70's had to hold down second jobs

I'm just convinced a guy with a .298 on base % is worth $15+ mill per season. Yes, that's not batting avg, it's actually his OBP. That's terrible. And as has been mentioned he's not even a good clubhouse guy.

The Pirates have agreed to a contract with free agent catcher Russell Martin, reports FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal (via Twitter), pending Martin passing a physical. It is a two-year, $17MM contract, according to David Waldstein of the New York Times.
