Default Elite Pro60X5FD or Sony XBR-65HX929

The Elite 60" is $4148 and the Sony 65" is $4500

I have seen both and the Elite seems like it is slightly better unit. People say the Sony has deep black levels, but I think the Elite might be better overall quality. I have not seen them side by side.

Which one do you guys like?

Hey I'm in the same boat as you I'm looking at the elite and the sony 950 and I'm really leaning toward the 950 . I saw the vt50 great set but not for me.

If you were in the wild, I would attack you, even if you weren't in my food chain. I would go out of my way to attack you. If I were a lion and you were a tuna, I would swim out in the middle of the ocean and freaking eat you and then I'd bang your tuna girlfriend.

I went to Best Buy today and spoke to a specialist. They told me that Elite is full array and has LEDs everywhere. They said Sony is not full array, like they claim. Instead, they have LEDs on the top row and the bottom row. Then they have scattered LEDs in the middle but not everywhere like the Elite. They call it local dimming but its not full array. I'm not sure if this is true but the Sony did not have as dark black levels.

Does anyone know if you can stream wirelessly the laptop with Intel Widi to the Elite?

Sony advertises World wide that the HX 929 has full array LED, so, if I were you, I would ask the "Specialist" if you can join his class action lawsuit against Sony Corp. for false advertising.

Another point to consider is that, unless you have access to calibrate both sets yourself on the showroom floor, making a really qualified judgment on the look of one set to another is problematic, as the "Specialist" may have adjusted one set to "appear" better than the other as one may pay a higher commission or pay an in-store cash spiff...

If you do a google search you can read about the cyan and motion blur issues on the 60" Elite model, which are also NOT on the Elite 70." Did the "Specialist" also mention this?

In the end, you will choose whichever for whatever reason you want.

Happy viewing,

Nope, the specialist never mentioned anything about the blurring. I went to the website and they said there is some firmware available. Does it address that?

The 70" Elite is like $6600!
