Yesterday, after a few changes in my system I used:
- Saving Private Ryan, the famous opening scene, obviously. - Revenge of the Sith, first scene and also "the birth" of Darth Vader, before he gets his helment fitted - that heartbeat will put your central channel to test, I assure you! - Matrix Revelations, when the machines enter Zion - a subwoofer loooong total workout! |

Great selection guys.
I will go with some different movies. For example, Alien it's a great way to demostrate the difference between ambients I think. It's crazy when you are in silence in space and then suddenly you are in ship. Aliens, at the beggining when they find Ripley and a machine active it a laser. When that laser goes right in front of you and passes by, the LFE is amazing. The same goes with the fight scene at the end, especially when Ripley appears in the crane. Every footstep it shakes your windows ![]() For sorrounding sound I use this demos from DTS, Dolby and THX: THX: amazing life. DOLBY: dolby spheres, dolby countdown, dolby bit harvest, dolby rain, dolby orchestra. DTS: Any Bd with DTS-HD Ma. For music for example I go with U2 360 at the Rose Bowl, or The Killers: Live from Royal Albert Hall. Those are the only ones I saw and own on Blu-Ray so... I can't forget about my favourite movie of all time: Blade Runner. It's just precious how the music and the details sounds ![]() I had no opportunity yet to see my other favourite movie, 2001, but as far as I know, it's quite beautiful in the sound department. |

But yeah, the audio was GREAT, so I assume that in Bd is even better ![]() Any particular moment that you may share in the audio department? Without taking in count the deleted scenes please, I refer ONLY to the theatrical release. |

The Fellowship of the Ring opening battle and Sauron implosion. When the finger drops and the shockwave rolls over everyone. Soo Good.

For ULF Bass (bass you feel) demo I use the opening pod scene from War of the Worlds.
For 3D I would use Neytiri/into Pandora night scene and opening to Prometheus 3D. 2nd Post-production 3D would be ship of dreams scene, Titanic 3D. Or Tron Legacy 3D Light Cycle scene (ULF in this is good too). For animation movie, I would probably use opening scene to Toy Story 3, opening scene to The Lorax, and the colorful circus scene of Madagascar 3 (Katy Perry Fireworks song). Other honorable mentions would be The Dark Knight, Aliens (restored nicely, sound is good too), T2:Skynet edition and The Avengers. Also reading this thread I need to add some more titles to my collection, thank you!

Now that I received my 4 Disc Collector's Edition of Prometheus, I would say PROMETHEUS for everything.
But I mean, every single aspect is amazing. The picture quality, the sound... Yes. Prometheus

I really like to demonstrate the difference between lossy and lossless codecs to those that don't know the difference. My favourite scene to do this with is the Tumbler chase in Batman Begins.
The growl of the Tumbler is epic!

THX Animation at the end of Avatar is also SPECTACULAR. Bill

Side note... you sir have a cool avatar. Always loved the Boeing 2707, Pan Am colors no less. That would have been the mother of all aircraft.
