There are a couple of locked UK Blu-rays that I'm interested in that come with PAL extras.
Are there any recommended quality players that are both region-free and are able to play PAL content on a NSTC set? |

I'm just providing a list (based on information available at the above URL) because you can install your own region free chip if you like. I think you will find that most members on this site will recommend BD players made by Oppo. I personally think they are the best and own 2 region free BD players (BDP-83 and a BDP-93).
The Alamo, Amistad, The Best Years of Our Lives, Black Rain (Jp), The Enemy Below, Far from the Madding Crowd, From Here to Eternity, Gray Lady Down, The Incredible Shrinking Man, Interrupted Melody, Khartoum, Lust for Life, Mississippi Burning, Moby Dick (Gregory Peck), The Other Sister, The Right Stuff, Ryan's Daughter, Searching for Bobby Fischer, Sink the Bismarck, Swing Kids, Testament, Them, The Thing from Another World, War of the Worlds (Orig.) & When Worlds Collide

Insignia NS-WBRDVD4 $35
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Insignia...3594900&loc=01 Press the setup button and then enter the code 9113 on the remote. A sub menu "configure player" pops up on the left. From there you can change the regions for DVD and BD. Converts PAL to NTSC and plays 50hz. Last region free firmware http://www.4shared.com/file/qRak_U8L..._B083_022.html Firmware instructions http://www.insigniaproducts.com/cms/...Dec%202010.pdf but if you want high quality I would mod an Oppo

Hi guys,
do the Bluray players listed above come ready to play out of the box or is there a hidden screen that needs to be accessed to change from NTSC to PAL and remove the region? thanks |

Hello Everyone,
I have a Panasonic Blu Ray recorder (DMR-BS750) and I had it modified to NTSC from PAL. It works fantastic but recently my wife was fiddling with the remote and switched it back to PAL preventing me to record anything again!! Can someone recommend a person or biz that can switch this back to NTSC? I live in the Georgia area of the US and I would like some help. Any suggestions? I have tried to reset the unit by pressing the up/down channel buttons on the unit but to no avail. |

Are there any current players that will internally convert the 50hz to a 60hz output so I can play region 2 dvd's and region b blu ray discs on my american 60hz TV?
All the links in this thread are dead, minus the website 220 electronics. I have scoped that out. Any recommendations on that site? Is there a cheaper option? |

They definitely dont ask us here in the US, because manufacturers dont care if we want to watch 50Hz stuff because they didn't design it. |
