What up fellas, been gone for a bit dealing with family stuff,but im back..

Well today i got myself some new Monitor Silver RX8 in rosewood and the matching Center and Surrounds and some kimble 4ohm speaker cables.. i need to hook everything up tomorrow..cant wait..

Very nice! Did you get rid of the Mirage speakers or the Wharfedale (I think it would be the Mirage because I believe the Opus is being used for 2 channel right)?

The sound is directed instead of being dispersed like the mirages. The sound stage is more pinpoint. The RX8's are bass monsters also. They spank the OMD 15's in bass. But I don't think the RX8's are a big leap over the 15's. It just depends on the sound you prefer. The RX8's are built like a tank tho. Much heavier than the 15's and its not even close.

those things are gorgeous.

i don't think i've ever heard monitors so i can't comment on their sound, but if they sound anything like they look then they probably sound amazing.

Hey sk33tr, I can vouch for the quality of them, from their lowest to the highest level, they are a fantastic brand. Monitor Audio makes some really nice speakers, some are reasonable and some are just crazy expensive

I think I'm right about in the middle level with the Silver series.

Well, just finished watching Men in Black 3 with everything setup...wonderfull sound! very clear and crisp sounds and alot of bass from the Monitor Silver RX8 , couldn't believe all the bass comming out of them..the center is also very detailed and clear, i m very happy with my purchase..Btw.. i sold my mirages 15 and center for 1,500, so i made a 300.00 profit..

the kimber speaker wire is some high end wire, that just makes you feel good your getting everything clear and static free sound..

i recently got silver rx2 to replace my mirage omd28 that were too much speaker for my apartment. they are exactly what I needed....a significant reduction in lower frequencies to keep peace with the neighbors.

I'm very impressed with the sound. if anything I think they sound better than the mirage speakers for my current room. very detailed sounding and work great for both movies and music.

How are they setup? Where are they crossed at? Are using the rear plugs or open port?

Which avr are you using?

Why are so many guys on here going away from Mirage? When I had my Monitors,I didn't plug one of the ports,didn't need to. The bass was awesome! The fit and finish is fantastic!

I use 14 gauge monoprice speaker wire. I also have some $200 monster cable Z-series speaker cables. No difference in sound, and no 'static'.

But anyway, congrats on the speakers.
