What? even the creator of the Wire, David Simon, says the following:
"To be clear: I don't think the Wire has all the right answers. It may not even ask the right questions. It is certainly not some flawless piece of narrative, and as many good arguments about real stuff can be made criticizing the drama as praising it. But yes, the people who made the Wire did so to stir actual shit. We thought some prolonged arguments about what kind of country we've built might be a good thing, and if such arguments and discussions ever happen, we will feel more vindicated in purpose than if someone makes an argument for why The Wire is the best show in years. ("Buffy," by the way, was the correct answer to that particular bracketfest.)" - David Simon

Very happy to see the second show listed at #9, and #8 both make the top 10.

He's entitled to his opinion too. But frankly, I think he was being sarcastic. Hugely.
Because Calamari Marionette Ph.D sounded pompous, that's why.

I agree, the Wire is one of the greatest shows ever made. But, so is Buffy, even though it is a completely different show.

I wonder if this is the highest charting comedy show on this poll. As much as I love it, I'm surprised it got more votes than Seinfeld or Married...with Children which didn't even make the top 25.

I'm sure the Simpsons will crack the top 5
I don't care for 3D at all. I am just fine with 2D blu-ray movies and my 2D 32" HDTV.

If you live in America, please buy American whenever possible to support our economy!

I think more people voted for Arrested Development than actually watched the show when it aired.

Slightly disappointed there's no ER. Then again, it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
