You're right. I just tried a 1" x 2" Light Dims strip, on my XPA-5 power button. It had a couple of wrinkles, because of the dome shape.

I don't use them in my systems. I originally purchased them for a Dayton Audio T-Amp, I use with my computer. It has an ultra bright blue power led. The Light Dims worked like a charm on it.

Okay, I bought some of these Dims at Frys Electronics ($1.99 a set). I took apart my XPA-3 and installed it on the button. The LEDs for the button are on a piece of acrylic diffuser. I just used one of the square covers to cover the entire diffuser (used a hand hole puncher to puch a hole for the actual button). Works like a charm. Cuts down the light by 70%.

The amp can be easily taken apart with just a philips screw driver.

I didn't take pics of the process (it was a spur of the moment kinda thing). I will try to get some of the results. Should have take a before shot as well. I have an Ethereal Power conditioner on the same rack and the Emotiva made that look dim. Now the power conditioner looks so bright compared to the amp. May have to cover that too.

They are a bit over kill for me. I am waiting for the XPA-1Ls.

Hey guys. If any of you know a lot about plasma TVs then please see my thread in the plasma part of the forum. I have a problem I can't seem to solve and it is driving me mad.

In the last 2-3 years I have spend thousands on equipment and I have yet to experience it all working properly at the same time. Sometimes this hobby frustrates me - I just want to be able to enjoy a movie without having to constantly plug/unplug, reboot, reconfigure etc.

Emo owners i have a question for you.......

I am thinking of getting the UPA 700 to power my front heights and wides, surround rears and leave one channel open. I am the thinking of using either an onkyo 3010 or denon 4520 to power my front stage (L-C-R) and remaing surround backs in an 11 channel set up.

Using the receiver to power the big speakers should give me over 100 watts per channel, while the 80 watts from the UPA 7 should be ample juice for the surrounds?

What do you guys think? Is this the right move?

the upa is a great sounding amp i heard one hooked up to a umc200 i think it would work great for you !

WE NEED PICTURES, LOL, how would these Light Dims work on the USP-1, the Volume controll is SOOO BRIGHT, any ideas?. THANKS

So I got the XPA5 hooked up last night............LOVING IT!!! Still need to rerun Audessy, with all the talk about about I have X amp will I notice a difference if I get an external amp I was very interested to see and I tell yeah I absolutely can hear a difference. I couldn't be happier!!!!!

Those new XPR's are so tempting. Truth though, as mentioned is could you even use it?
I love my XPA-2 powering the lows on the 100's, and the extra power did make a difference. I'm just certain the dedicated 20 amp circuit is not worth the hassle upstairs. Maybe in the dedicated HT downstairs I'll eventually build.
What beasts though.
I guess, having said that...I can remember a time when a 350 watt powered 12" sub seemed like more than enough, and now I have 2 12" subs with over twice that power each.
Maybe XPA-1's are the answer for now?

Ok so I've tried different things but can't get the Emo to turn off\on when my Onk powers up\down???? I have the 12v cable connecting the two and tried various menu settings on the avr but no go.....I have the onkyo 1007.....if anyone has ideas on what I need to do to make this work I would apresh.....

Alright, I know I am typically crap about posting pics b/c I typically am on this site when I am NOT home.

So I took a little break from decorating the house with my wife for the holidays and listening to Christmas music to take some pics... that shows dedication, right? I have to say, I enjoy this time of year immensely . Anyway, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

As for the pics, I took one with light and another in the dark. For reference, the Emotiva amp was easily TWICE as bright as the Ethereal power conditioner before adding the LightDims. Even the QSC amp LED was not as bright as the Emotiva. After the LED "treatments"... well, I will let the pics speak for themselves.





Have to add a random pic of our little helper. Hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

It seems that your Onkyo 1007 trigger option only applies for Zone 2 and 3. In other words is sending signals to turn on/off other devices when you select any of these zones, but does nothing for the main zone.

Best thing to do is contact Onkyo to confirm this and be sure about it.

BTW - lights are for the trees...
