I looked at the developer name and it wasn't the same. I presumed it was NOT the one affiliated with Blu-Ray.com.

Thanks
Not sure what else to tell you but it is on there. On my iPad 3 I do the following:

run app store
search for : my movies
filter the results for iPhone apps using button on top of window
there it is in the list just like on iTunes and the blu-ray.com web site

Just installed the app in my iPhone. It's very handy. Thanks to the developer.

Any chance that the app will be updated so that we can add titles we scanned into our collections? I actually thought that was the way it worked now when I downloaded it.

Thanks for the reply. (TLDR: Something was borked. Got it to download now)

I must have had some glitch on my IPAD 2 (using latest IOS too) as when
I had tried what you suggested (before I read your reply) the damn app store
on my IPAD would never list the IPHONE apps.

A week went by. I decided to check this thread again and tried as you suggested (again as I had done so before) just to see what happend.

Sure enough it listed this time. The version for Blu-Ray.com showed up and
I snagged it real quick before my IPAD decided to freak and refuse to show it again.

Now to see how it works! Just installing it now as I typed this.

Which version are you using? The Android one? I'm sorry it is not that user friendly, you are not the first to report this (I guess I need to improve the user interface).

When scanned and you are presented with the view where it lists the barcode number at the top and section for blu-ray.com matches and possible matches in the collection, you need to tap and hold on the match.

Hi, I'm an experienced Android developer that's been trying to expand his UX skills lately. So I've been creating UX prototypes of some favorite apps. The bluray.com Android app happened to be one of the ones I picked. I'd be happy to talk about sharing some of the concepts to improve usability of the application.

Default Filter out Countries

Is there a way to filter out countries when searching through the app? For example, if I only wanted to see North America and UK, could I set the app to only return results from those countries?

Yep I'm on a droid, not sure if it really that user friendly or if I'm just such a newbie to smartphones, as when I mentioned your response to my girlfriend she gave me a geez you couldn't figure that out yourself look.

Anyway I tried it like you said to do it and sure enough it works like a charm now I've got to get busy on scanning my collection and then the bigger job of weeding out the titles I've traded away in the past few months.

Stupid question alert.

The screenshots in the app store show a "Synopsis" field for blu-ray titles. My app (1.0.9) doesn't have this field but does have "Extended information." Trouble is, nothing shows in this field for any title in my collection except a dash (-). Am I missing something obvious here?

The screenshot in the App store shows the view for a theatrical movie entry. The view for a Blu-ray/DVD does not contain a synopsis. The extended field will contain additional information about the title, if any. Eg. an alternative title, country specific name for the title, etc.

Default Works great, some glitch with bulk UPC upload

Just to report that since I managed to get around the Apple store glitch I had
that this application is doing wonders for my library tracking.

I managed to UPC scan 300 some plus titles blu-ray and dvd.

Only glitch I've noted is the Bulk Upload is balky a lot of the time.

It reports (sorry I'm paraphrasing as I forgot the exact text as I type this)
Error with contacting the server or upload or some such.
This is after a long timeout period where the app seems to be uploading
with the swirling indicator then thee 'error ' occurs.

It didn't do this at first but later bulk scans (5 to 15 titles at a time) this error started popping up.

I'll try to re-up the batch and usually the same sort of error pops up (after a time out period of a minute or so)

At some point I decided to check on line via my browser on my PC at Blu-ray.com and it seems the titles DID get uploaded despite the frequent
time outs reported on the IPAD app.

SInce my bulk UPC uploads are done I usually just scan now one at a time
and submit that way. No errors reported then.

This is on my wi-fi network if that makes any difference. Good connection
far as I know (seems fine with Netflix, etc.)

IPAD2 latest IOS.

Great app and thanks for doing this.

Thanks for the feedback.

My first guess is that it just takes long for the server to identify the uploaded UPC:s and respond within a certain time limit. This causes the timeout to happen on the device. Since the upload is ok, they will be added to your collection (as you have seen). The only negative side is that your device doesn't get the feedback of which titles were added and which you already had etc.

I'll see what I can do (other than increasing the timeout =) )

I personally dont use the app as its really quite basic.....

-Cant add new movies to your collection
-No description of films
-No link to forum

Its just a list of my films, and even thats wrong. It says I have 234 where on the site it says I have 289.

I just bookmark the mobile site and use tapatalk for the forum

Do you get an error message when trying to add movies?
What do you mean with description? synopsis? At the moment the purpose of the app is to be a collection tracker, but there is a plan to add more stuff later on.

Regarding the collection count, there is a setting in the app that controls whether it is counting unique products (SKUs) or movies. Eg. a collection box with three movies will be counted with the SKU option as one, but with unique movies as three.

That sounds wrong, I tried and it seems correct. What version of the app are you using?

I have the latest version. And, it takes a few tries. To get the correct number. And, I have 8 metal packs. For some reason. It says I have 1 in the app. And the app says I have zero iron pack. When I have one. This is on both versions (iOS & android).
