Van Helsing would be an excellent candidate for 3D thrill entertainment around the seasonal (Halloween) festivities.

Am I the only one who thinks that while not a good movie Speed Racer would look terrific in 3D? I'll probably give it a try on my systems 2D to 3D conversion some time in the future, but as mediocre as the movie was I think I'd purchase a 3D version.

You are correct, it was released in cinemas as 3D. I checked my local websites for the 3D blu release and can't see it either, only the 2D version. If there isn't a 3D version of this to buy, I'll be very cranky.

I would love to see all Back To The Future movies released in 3D. I love this trilogy.

Default Harryhausen Films Should be Converted

I keep waiting for the studios to convert one of Harryhausen's films like Jason and the Argonauts or my personal favorite The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, but probably the original Clash of the Titans would get the treatment first. Harryhausen is not opposed to updating his films. He allowed his early Black and White films to be colorized.

Default Unlikely catalogue titles that would make good 3D conversion...

Was just recently watching Home Alone for the holidays and was thinking that this title, if done right, would have some awesome pop-out moments and depth.

What other (unlikely) titles would you pick?

Something David Lynch. His movies already sort of hypnotize me and suck me into another world. Adding depth to that experience could make it even better.

After watching Prometheus 3D I was thinking how much I would love to see Blade Runner in 3D

Also maybe, Alien, Aliens, and The Matrix

Definitely, agree...but those I would consider as "likely" candidates for conversion.

I was thinking more along the lines like "Explorers".

I think all of these movies would work really well in 3D.

Mean Girls
Heathers
Pan's Labyrinth
The Godfather & Part II (I understand the Director has expressed interest in making these 3D)
Schindler's List
Forrest Gump
The Silence of the Lambs
The Usual Suspects
Leon: The Professional
Spirited Away
Amelie
Ghost World
Singin' in the Rain
Raging Bull
Downfall
The Big Lebowski
Twelve Monkeys
The Princess Bride
Rocky
The Truman Show
Let the Right One In

Caveat: not a big fan of converting catalogue titles that weren't shot for 3D. That said:

Blade Runner would be incredible
Now that they are thinking of a sequel or prequel, its probably going to be in 3D ..hopefully the do a conversion on the original one.

I also agree with What dreams may come... those visuals would look great with depth

Blade Runner would be incredible...also Pan's Labyrinth, Forrest Gump, Leon: The Professional, Twelve Monkeys, The Princess Bride. But, according to my list, I would definitely consider these "likely" candidates.

Likely Candidates
Armageddon
Batman Begins
Blade
Blade II
The Dark Knight
Evil Dead
The Fifth Element
Fight Club
Ghostbusters
Harry Potter Series
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
LOTR Series

UnLikely Candidates
Beetlejuice
Behind Enemy Lines
Broken Arrow
Charlie's Angel
Deep Rising
Driven (Stallone movie)
The Fast & The Furious
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Kill Bill
Kung Fu Hustle
Macross Plus
The Mask

...I think I'll stop here, the list can go on.

I'd rather 2D films be left alone.

Dissapointed that Sucker Punch was not in 3D as was intended from what I understand.
