Good news! A newly remastered edition is about to be released in Germany (out December 20th). Its from a small independent label called "Subkultur Entertainment". They released some obsurce little gems on DVD so far, but quality was always good (and always "true to the source", e.g. not DNR smearing and the likes). So i'm confident the blu-ray will be good, too

Technical Specs are 1.85:1 (1080p) Transfer with Englisch & German Tracks in PCM Mono (so again no fancy upmix, just the original soundmix). It will be Dual Layered BD-50 for max. Bitrate

Extras include "THE EPHEMEROL DIARIES: An Interview with Stephen Lack", Original Trailers, an isolated Music & Effects Track (finally all the Scanner sounds can be sampled ), Sildeshows, and an audiocommentary be german film expert Marcus Stigelegger...

Accoring to Torsten Kaiser (from TLEFilms Film Restoration) its the HD Master from MGM. This screenshots was posted on facebook (->http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/3045/evppjf2a_jpg.htm). I think they just want to assure that we are getting the propper HD treatment this time, after the disastrous frist release by Black Hill.

Hard to say, it's their first Blu-ray release. But the (preliminary) backcover states region B only.

The first reviews can be found online. Basically it says: High Bitrate, flawless encoding, excellent englisch audio-track (24BIT/PCM) plus all specials, menues, trailers, logos are 1080p| 23,976fps (no SD or 50i content) and the Blu-ray is region-free!

What's the difference between 1 and 2 two disc BDs? Is it just the DVD copy which is included in the 2 disc Limited edition.

The 2 Disc limited is in a Digipack and has a booklet (I suppose in German) while the single disc only is in a normal keepcase.
