I read the title of this thread and IMMEDIATELY thought of that cover. Still to this day the only issue I ever bought 2 copies of from my local newsstand. I just knew, as soon as I saw it on the rack that day, that it was destined for immortality. (And CGC apparently agreed with me, cuz they gave one copy a 9.8.)

This thread breaks my heart. I lost all of my comics in a fire when I was twelve, nothing but material stuff was lost but when I see stuff I use to own before the fire...
I wish I kept on collecting comics after that. I've seen some great covers but I couldn't bring myself to buy them. Anyway My two favorites .The 1st one wasn't a favorite until the 2nd one came out. Great covers everybody. Last edited by jd_from_da_80s; 12-20-2012 at 08:23 PM. |

Actually the whole Marvel run of 80 issues was one of the best series. Also the Marvel UK comics were really well done.

I always liked this:
Hands off the compression button music industry!!
Hands of the DNR button Blu Ray producers! Films are supposed to have grain! |

That Crisis issue might be my favorite cover of all time. I remember seeing it at the store and being shocked. This was long ago when they simply didn't kill off major superheroes in comic books. Though we were well into the Bronze Age, that issue is the real ending to the Silver Age.
DC released a beautiful statue of that cover, about a decade ago. |
